little accordian (that actually work) necklaces? :D

i booked my hotel months ago. lagniappes are planned in advance but always seem to be constructed last minute. i'm torn between driving and flying (ff miles). i like driving, makes dates flexible.

Shoot me an email addy and I'll forward the booking buddy add. Tried dates and it told me my mail addy was not good. Went to hotwire and that hotel was not there for dates, used both weekends straight through.

It looks like the "show me" link in that email defaults to the coming weekend (11/14-16).

No super Hotwire deals for fest dates yet, but based on history and given the current economy, I think there will be some in the coming months.

I'm looking for a good deal Swag, and you always help us find one. Not booking till I see something French Quarter under $100. Think we'll see something along the lines of the infamous and unbelievable Holiday Inn for $38 night?

At some point, there will be a deal in the FQ or on Canal St under $100. Under $50 is usually pretty rare. The $38, I think was someone's error, mistakenly including prime dates like Jazzfest.

It'd be a pretty good bet it should have been $138!

I missed the $38 deal...but did wind up there for $89 the next morning after the big sell off, which was darn good too. Think the deals will start in January? I'm taking my youngest daughter (21) with me next year so want to be in the Quarter...

It's anyone's guess when the deals will start. It seems to vary, every year different. You can see when they were available in past years with the links way at the bottom of http://jazzfest.swagland.com/bidding.html

Wasn't it about this time last year that they announced ticket prices? It should be interesting this year. Crappy economy - will they help us or themselves?

I think it depends on your dates. The lowest fare I can find round trip for direct flights on Contintental out of any NYC area airport is $438. I think we'll stick with Hartford for $325, with one connection but good times otherwise.

that is absolutely true. I am fortunate enough to do the whole enchilada. I am flying out on Wednesday the 22nd late (read: after work) and flying back early on Tuesday the 5th in and out of Newark.

Hartford is definitely a great option.
