This Sat. 11/8 Carolyn Wonderland on ACL. Also Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings on ACL the same evening. Sharon had the crowd moving last month during acl festival. She also played Voodoo this year.

I was down in Austin week before last for a conference, and Tuesday night I swung by Antones. It was Carolyn Wonderland as a guest of the usual Blue Tuesday/Blue Monday guys (Derek O'Brien & Malford Milligan). She really blew me away, and my colleagues & clients who I dragged along were pretty impressed too.

Malford Milligan is one heck of a singer. Last time I saw him Storyville was still together. Sounds like you had a great night of music.

Yeah, Storyville is when I first heard Malford. Later, when he had his Funky London band, he used to play Dallas now and again. The last several years, though, I only see him when I'm in Austin and the stars align. I think I'd heard he had gone thru some health issues, but he looked good (he's lost weight) and sounded good.
