at Yoshi's on 11/3. Just saw this, for some reason. Don't know if I can swing this, because I've got Feat at GAMH on 11/5. Tempting, though....

Two days is more than enough time to recover from a Ruthie show.

I've seen her, which is why I wanna (good way to warm up for election day, too!). Old bones don't bounce back like they used to, though. Neither does the bankroll....

yup, yup, yup, kinda recall very much enjoyin' all three at a blues fest by the bay just some 5 weeks ago.. that was one very fine day..

o.k. story time,.. it's been a while since i cut loose....

that really was one very nice day,.. the weather perfect,.. the setting, too fantastic... with a little effort you can set up with a view overlooking that famed bridge and that beautiful bay... a way cool place to enjoy ruthie foster, our main reason for being there.... there was one slight downside,.. that would be the price of suds.... 7-8 buckaroos a cup,.. if i remember correctly...

for future references,.. this fest offers just about the easiest set up that i have encountered in quite some time to bring in your own,.. whatever your own is... and with a grocery store that sells happy juice just 75 yds or so from the gates,.. near perfecto.... we brought in a very tasty po boy/sub/grinder/ and some water but skipped on the more exciting liquid refreshment options as we were draggin' somewhat from our previous few days enjoyin' the tastin' of the vine up in Napa/Sonoma... we thought we would/should go easy during the daylight hours for once... that is rarely the right choice...

this is the part of story for any and all....

whether you are lucky enough to be a bay area local,.. or you wisely decide to visit the area,.. you might wish to consider treating yourself to an incredible experience,.. it's a place called cavallo point,.. which is a spectacular hotel/resort located literally a golf shot away from the foot of the golden gate bridge on the sausalito side... and i mean a golf shot....

what a setting,.. and what a view.... they did a stand out job of restoring the existing historic officer's quarters there and they have also added brand spankin' new contemporary rooms/suites to the project... we stayed in one of the restored buildings... top notch all the way... prior to this trip i was completely unaware that they had a presidio on both sides of the bridge...

the only negative,.. we spent but one night there,.. that sat. night of the blues fest,.. but that delivered us into the treat of all treats.... they have a sunday morning brunch... let's just call it 10 thumbs up!!!!!... sitting outside on the veranda over looking the golden gate bridge while enjoying a bevy of delectable items,... each and every bite delectable with a capital D... the pastries made on the site from scratch were to die for... every thing fresh, every thing great.... seasonal fruits,.. juices... wow... the best experience of the entire trip through the bay area, the coast, and wine country....

and it was a total karma thing that got us there... total legume karma...

after making a trip to gather some vittles at the sf blues fest,.. nutted up to celebrate live music of course,.. i returned to the company of my far betta' half, along with mymeca and a very, very nice friend of hers... a few moments later as i was chompin' a bite,.. i noticed a shadow and a presence kinda hoverin' over me... looked up to see two very lovely ladies,.. they seemed to know me... did i mention they were kinda very love-ly,.. and bay area locals as it turned out....

anywho,.. it took me a moment,.. but recognize them i did,.. from fest party time in new orleans... i guess as i walking by their camp they took notice of the magic nut from a distance and fell under it's spell,.. but again,.. in a different settin'... the spell got em' the first time too...

so after my memory kicked in,.. i stood,.. we hugged,.. hung out a bit,.. talked some,.. they invited us to come by and hang at their site if we wished,.. they left,.. tried to go back to eain',.. but not before i took care of sum explainin' lucy chores... the far betta' half agreed that all was legit with the history of the lovely ladies :o.... no hankie of the pankie style stuff was ever involved :( :( ...

caught up with the ladies for the last half of the last set.... ended up hangin' with them for the next 10 hours or so,.. mostly in bars on the waterfront in sausalito,.. during happy hour in the first stop they recommended we check out cavallo point... being the last minute guy i am,.. i had informed them that we actually had no set plans for that night as i had struck out earlier that morning on priceline... we made our way there, checked it out, checked in, and then ended the evenin' in a very historic sailin' club clubhouse,.. only a few minutes from our suite, right there on the bay,..the actual cavallo point i guess...

some friends of theirs had a blues jam lined up,.. maybe 50 people in the bar at most,.. with probably 60% of them getting up on stage at some point... near all with a good deal of talent... what a great way to end that great day...

i can see why mymeca choose her id,.. bay area and new orleans,.. mecas both.....
