so, i think i waited way too long to make reservations, but where would you suggest having Thanksgiving Dinner (11/27/08) so i could order this bird? or what other great restaurant would y'all suggest?

K-Paul's used to serve it on Thanksgiving eve & Christmas eve. Don't know if they still do and have never heard of another restaurant serving it.

I've always regretted not having a chef friend of ours show me how to de-bone birds (keep it clean, y'all!), and he used shears on the smaller birds. Did the gourmet-grocery-deli places return to the city? We've got at least one full-service groceries that offer tur-duck-en if you order it in advance. With our kitchen down for remodeling last season, we wound up catering Christmas... and, suprise... it was cheaper than doing it ourselves, which I still find hard to believe.

yeah, that's the first place i looked. man, looks like a lot of restaurants are booked solid! i was really looking forward to eating there!
Googling didn't find too much.
When I've been to K-Pauls, they always had some tables set aside for walk-ins. You can also eat at the bar. I'm not sure if either of these are options on Thanksgiving Eve (they're closed Thursday), but it's worth a call to ask.

yeah...i found Harrah's too! might have to skip that dish and just get regular turkey and fixin's...which is ok with me any day!

WAIT WAIT WAIT...WHAT? I have enough ghosts to deal with....dinner and drinks and I will take you to other parts of LA for a tour. I want to take you to the Coast one day for sure. Meet Mama and see that area.

Dupre's is excellent. We had one at company Xmas lunch last year. 14 folks, not a scrap left.
Gotta mention Poche's though. Get the one with Cajun stuffing. Yummy.

thanks to all! i did make dinner reservations for thanksgiving day...i really don't want to cook...i need a vacation. and i'm excited about the tour! katy will probably try and talk me out of it, so thanks for the info! hehe!
