Is it too early too resurrect the old Favorite New Orleans restaurants thread from the old bored? I don't remember who it was but somebody put together a fantastic compilation of the top picks of everybody's favorite restaurants last year. They had some goodies on there.
Is it possible to even bring it back up?

answering the little voices again?
lol, that's a common occurence with me. No, I was asking if somebody knew how to resurrect the restaurant thread from the old bored. But I have been known to talk to myself a time or two. Sometimes I find I'm the most interesting conversationalist I know! ;)

As long as the person who answers you back agrees with you, it's all good. I was thinking about this thread the other day. I killed a tree or two printing it off last year as it was SO full of good info.

Talking to yourself is how you're getting close to 1000 posts already PC ;) Haha!
I think Breambob knows how to bring the threads back up from the old board . . .

hmmm, i tend to talk to myself in person, so i guess thats not much different than on the boards...i only get worried when the third voice chimes in :D

I don't talk to myself, frankly because I find myself SO boring...but do drool on the keyboard when I read the restaurant thread. Either way, I look like a goof.

I see our friend Blitzzz is on the hunt for the thread -- check out the consolidated history of Jazz thread in the main forum.

Unfortunately, the "way back machine" at the web archives only has threads from 2005 and earlier...none from 2006

Oh noooo! Does that mean we'll have to start another one? I'm gonna hold off until I hear the final word from Breambob. Gosh, whoever did that last year put a LOT of hard work into that. I sure hate to see that one go to waste. :(
Good job on the link, Mich. That was helpful and got my mouth to watering again. Being that that was from 2003 pre-K though, I bet some of that has changed.

I have two sets of what I think are complete spiders from the old bored. One from 1-1-06 and one from that was from the last day of the old board.
I don't have and index to the thread titles :( , but I can search the threads for keywords, and maybe find the thread.
Anyone ready for a repost of the "History of the Jazz Fest Poles" thread?

Thanks, bb! You rule. As usual. :D
Oh, a couple of keywords that I know was on that thread was the The Coffee Pot and Maspero's. And Acme's and Felix's, of course. Fiorella's. Emeril. You get the idea, lol.

BB the thread (THREADHEAD RESTAURANT REVIEW, Final Update, started by hatsjazz)was originally at http://www.nojazzfest.com/chat/viewmessage.php?id=12124&forumid=2
I took snapshots of the forum every so often to protect against wondering's attacks, but did not cache the actual threads.

I have the aforementioned threadhead restaurant review in a word doc ... thats probably the most sensible way to bring it back ... maybe Ohio could put it on Threadhead.org

Here is an updated list of restaurant openings in the Quarter. Also, other places such as the Garden District, CBD and Algiers, etc. are listed in the link at the bottom.
Updated Saturday, February 3. Recent additions in red (you'll have to go to the link for that).
Here is a list of restaurants that I've confirmed have reopened since the hurricane. Most are operating with reduced hours and shorter menus. A few have phone problems, so you can't call them and they can't take credit cards. Not included: fast-food restaurants, most national chains, bars and coffeehouses. »=Recommended. Restaurants do not pay to be listed or recommended. Send additions or corrections to news@nomenu.com. New: More Information

Hi all - there is another thread on these boards that talks about restaurants with a ton of replies - if you search on restaurants it comes up in the first forum area....just FYI.
