No, it's new. This is the best thing we've seen locally since Dr. John played the Pete Miller Jazz Fest the one and only year they held it outdoors. That was 1999 or 2000.

Don't think I can make it Wednesday.

But I am considering going to see Taj Mahal at The new Morse Theater (also near Evanston) this Friday or Saturday... sounds like a cool new place http://www.themorse.com/cms/

How was the show ,
Frosty?
Was it a nice room?
I'm working the graveyard shift these days so I don't get out much on week nights.

Well, my group ended up expanding to 12 as one friend and his wife brought their son and several of his friends for his 14th birthday. You've got to love the all ages shows. The place was full. Not packed in like Tips gets for their shows but it was wall to wall people. The show was fantastic. They were tight and kept their songs to a brief 5 to 7 minutes. No More Okey Doke was smokin', even without Cyril on vocals. The crowd was a mix of NU students/young 20 something and us middle aged folks. I can't imagine the 20 something new of these guys but by the responses, they were blown away. The crowd was really into the show. The venue is pretty cool. It is a large old brick building that has been divided into a front restaurant and back room. It actually had the feel of being in New Orleans. The way that part of Evanston looks, we could have been on Magazine or Oak. The cool thing to is you can order pizzas from the restaurant to bring into the room to help wash down the cold beer. Great night and I turned some more people onto the sounds of New Orleans.
