How does the strap attach to the guitar? I have the strap with a sort of buttonhole thing on the end, but what does it hook to on the guitar?

The real question is..."how many Abita's did you drink?"

I think You Tube has a 4 year old teaching that....LOL

The guitar has a button on the big end that the buttonhole fits in. Usually the other end straps around the neck between the frets and the pegs. I only wish I played the thing. Drums and vocals and very bad sax are it for me. I shoulda remembered to sax well.

Pffftttt.....ask a serious question and look what I get!!!! LOL

I'll see you on Halloween and at the walk! Took my bud up to the Alumni House the other night and ordered an Abita. He'd never had one so he tried mine and immediately ordered another round for us both. I think I made a convert, although I forgot to ask Chris to save the caps for me!

WOOT! A real answer! Does the button on the guitar look like overall buttons? Metal with a shank?

It's a little more stylized than that, but I guess it is conceptually. It really looks more like half a small tire rim screwed into the guitar.

Cool. Thanks.

And gotta love the technical terms like "the big end" of the guitar.

not a silly question at all - and like the question of what kind of underwear does a 51 year-old guitar picker wear - boxers or briefs? depends! if your guitar has two "buttons", one's likely to be a white rounded pin on the bottom of the side (at the opposite end of the guitar from the neck) and you'll have to work the hole or slot in the strap end over that rounded knob on the pin. The neck end of the guitar might not have a button at all, but they're usually metal, and screwed to the back of the neck where it joins the guitar body, or - my preference - screwed into the heel of the neck where only Yngwie Malmsteen would ever encounter the button playing the darn thing.... if no button, attach a good shoe-string and tie off to the headstock of the neck behind the strings and above the nut, that little (usually white) thing-y the strings go over on their way to the tuners. Hope that helped!
