View Full Version : 15 Endangered Destinations
This was on MSN today and New Orleans was listed. All the listed places pulled at the heart strings. Sad as some of the problems can be helped.

I must have missed something. No article and just because NOLA is prone to caines it is doomed. Don't think so.
I have looked at the link twice and that is all I saw. Maybe stupid today but New Orleans is tops in my book. Not going anywhere.

It's sad that America/Americans have so little respect for nature other than it's potential for development.
Malibu being listed is proof. If people hadn't built on every last inch, the threat of fire, mud slides and erosion would be sooooooo much less.
It comes down to people living where they were never meant to and then wondering why Mother Nature wins. Hopefully, we can change the attitudes before it's too late.
[okay, done now ;)]
No Belle, certainly not stupid :) Just as the other locations mentioned, we humans unfortunatley reap what we sow. As far as NOLA being around for 300 years that unfortunately doesn't guarantee it'll be around for 300 more (although I would hope so!!!). Luckily there are a lot of good people out there trying to fix mistakes made, reverse some of the damage we humans have caused. At times its a pretty thankless effort but the simple fact that these endangered locations are getting some media attention means they are making progress as folks are starting to listen.

Well I doubt some of the research in this list as Boston Harbor is listed. I can tell you first hand that Boston Harbor is cleaner than it has been in forty years. I can also tell you that they are taking steps to make sure the harbor does not flood into the north end~between the businesses in the north end that cater to a large amount of tourism and the fact that the city is under the gun from the EPA to maintain vigilent watch on the water level are two things that under a microscope.
