Festydave!!! Can you take a look at this?

The Underdawgs would be a GREAT ADDITION to the fest! Shamarr Allen, Willie Green, Elliott Cohn, Flea etc. Could ya put a bug in Quint's ear Dave? I'm sure they have already....they formed their new band just recently so missed the deadline for submissions for fest but they're stuff went in. Crossing fingers that they get in cuz they are smokin' HOT!!

Shamar has a new tune coming out too...Do that dance...it's a Secondline hip hop/brass style smokin' new tune that makes you wanna shake it! The Underdawgs have some fantabulous funk tunes too. Their heavy funk/rock version of the Beatles 'Come Together' is truly incredible and I don't even LIKE the Beatles (t-heads please keep in mind this is the Underdawg's thread, not an ass-kicking thread for Lis about the Beatles lol)

oh man that tune is a blast! It makes me happy when I hear it :) I can't wait until it's out so everyone can check it out. We have a rough version of it but no sharing of music without the artist's permission. If Shamar says yeah, I'll post the link though :)

Here's the write-up on myspace...they are just getting the site going so there's not much there yet. This will give you a better idea though.

About New Orleans UnderDawgs
Take the drummer from the Neville Brothers, Willie Green and add two members of the Rebirth Brass Band, Shamar Allen and Flea, and then add two members of the Cosmic Sweat Society, Elliott Cohn and Kenny Green, and finally round it off with one of the finest keyboard players in the crescent city, Mike Burkhardt and you have the New Orleans UnderDawgs. The sound is intense, funky, full of rock and soul and never sways too far from the traditional styles of the funky sound started in New Orleans. This extradornairily talented group of musicians have decided to collaborate and put together a sound and live show that is a must see for every fan of funk music.
