Belle mentioned in another thread trading a TH cookbook for another book and it got me thinking about something a few of us have discussed. We will always be indebted to ozzie for the beautiful threadhead cookbook she put together a couple years back and donated to the raffle. Here's my question: How many of you would be interested in buying a second edition of the first Threadhead cookbook? And how many of you would be interested in buying a second threadhead cookbook? The second one could feature recipes of different th's from the first and of course have different pix. It would not be cheap. Probably around $30. And we would also put a few of each in the raffle.

And you can choose multiple answers on this poll. :)

Great post KK!
Most T-heads probably don't know that we have indeed already tried re-printing the first book, and it came out beautifully. We have the technology...

Thanks, bry. But I want someone to vote in my poll. It's the first one I ever made. :D Guess I'll go vote. :)

I'd be interested in a reprint of #1, and interested in a print of THR#2 as well I also have some good recipes I can put in 2 , if you wish.(EX: jambalaya, crawfish etoufee, blue berry sour cream pie, orange slice cake, grilled gator, grilled venison)

I didn't get the original because even though I cook a lot, I'm not a cookbook kind of guy. I rarely follow recipes out of books. Then, later, I saw one of the books and it was fantastic, not the recipes but all the pictures of all the threadheads that were next to the recipes, all bound into a beautiful book. When there was a test-run of reprints, I was all over that and made sure to snag one.

My point is, even if you're not usually one to buy cookbooks, you may want one of these. It's a lovely Threadhead souvenir. :)

I'd buy a few copies of each! I almost fell off my chair when Belle said she traded because I would LOVE to have a copy of the first one. Maybe we Canajun Threadheads can contribute some local recipes....:D

Yes and YES I didn't get a first edition and a reprint would be groovy as I did not win one in the raffle....a new second edition...I am down for too!! I would gladly contribute and gladly be a consumer....question?? with all the available software out there and existing fundraiser cookbook providers would it really be that expensive to produce??

P.S. Swag
Nice ski porn just what I needed on a sunny simmer day but music and food still come first for me! :)

After a search of cookbook sites, the first cookbook was reproduced in a trial run at a little over 20 dollars a book. So to glean a profit for the charities, the price would be around 30 dollars.

Seriously, just let me know if I can be of any help on this:

I work on cookbooks all the time.

If you need any professional shots done for the book, I know a couple of food photographers that would do them for free if they could have a photo credit in the book to add to thier portfolio.

Yes, there was that....but what really launched my career was the Bananas & Cucumbers photospread I did for Gourmet magazine back in '92.
It was a pretty big deal back then  racy

Cool, Mexi. Actually i dont think there were any food pix in the first cookbook. There is a photo on every 2 page spread but they are mostly pictures of threadheads. I think there may be a picture of uncle David's crawfish bread.
Mmmmmmm.

i believe uncle david and his famous delectable CFB are pictured together...he's makin' it, minutes from being baked and devoured...and that's the only food pics in there...i'm with you swag...the recipes are great, but i love mine for the pics

{{Blush}} I didn't know what I had but did copy a few of the recipes before I sent it off. Still I made a good trade cause everyone was happy.

Since presentation is everything I enjoy the pictures of properly prepared dishes ready for serving.

Swag may know how to cook up Louisiana food by heart but I do not. Mexican food is my specialty.;)

Coolio! Was wondering how the reprint went... hope Jada got a copy from the trial with her mistook recipé corrected!

I always intended the initial run to be a Threadhead momento (hence the people pics) and the finished product was exactly as I envisioned... a little rough around the edges, just like us! :)

Also think it's great if Mark 11 gets a makeover... all good things evolve and mature along the way.

I'm down for a new one, but not if all food. No matter how fantastic the food pic I can't understand the ingredients or quantities anyway! I'm not saying I don't want to see it go that way... Mexi's got a lot of talent and we have some serious cooks here... just not for me a 'proper' cook book.

Thanks for taking this project on!

Actually, I agree with you, OZ! I have never used one recipe from the cookbook, but I look at the pictures often.

Oz~ No worries because my services are probably not right for this cookbook afterall... now that I understand it's more of a TH momento. :)
I totally misunderstood.

very happy to still see such interest in the 1st TH Cookbook and even happier y'all would like to do Version #2.
1st of all BIG Props to Ozzie, after what Nanc and I and Bry and others went thru just making everything fit for the "technology" site so it all worked, you are AMAZING lady! A ton of work, BUT, now it's all set up so we can order as needed.
In order to keep the new book affordable we need to keep it to 40 pages, 2 sided of course. So that probably will mean 40 recipes and 40 pic's, unless we get some short recipes and can fit 2 on a page.
