Just booked our travel and want to buy tickets (GM passes)!
Anyone remember what month they go on sale? I'm thinking its February.
Actually, last year, it was Nov. 15th.

Why don't you split an overpass with someone?

I split an Overpass with Blitz last year. Worked out great.

I split an Overpass last year also - used first weekend and gave second weekend to the raffle - it worked out well. A question though (and I do not advocate doing this - it is just a question) How is it that the Overpass is transferable and the Brass Pass is not? As far as I know, they stopped engraving people's names on them - they just scanned them coming through the gate. Would WWOZ know if you tried to split a Brass Pass between first and second weekend?

Can the same person use the Overpass everyday? If I need two passes, couldn't I just buy a Brass Pass & an Overpass instead of two Brass Passes? This has always confused me......... :o

The rules are:
Brass Pass, unlimited entry for one person, not transferrable.
Overpass, unlimited entry for one person each day; can be used by the same person the next day or given to another; but can't be used by two different people on the same day.
Not having ever used one, I cannot speak to how effectively the rules are enforced.
The Overpass costs more - you're paying for the transferrability - so unless you plan to transfer it, if you need two, getting two brass passes would be cheaper.

Shows you what I know, I thought the Pass/Overpass was less expensive. Thanx!!

In my experience, they never have asked for an ID, even when the names were engraved...

Engraved or not engraved, my personal experience has been that I am always asked to show I.D. at the entry gate to get the daily bracelet. And, yes, you do have to have the daily bracelet and the actual Brass Pass to gain entry to the WWOZ tent.

They scanned my irises each day after the fingerprint check. Then they escorted me into a little silver trailer... then I drank something tasty and forgot what happened next. But I did get in each day with the brass pass.

Too funny!
We will continue to buy Brass Passes even if only attending for one weekend (while we can). Thought about doing overpasses and donating the other wekend to the raffle, but I'm SUCH a souvenir collector I'd hate to not have my pass in my collection of loveable but useless stuff!
Sissy, one year I'm sure I'll get it together enough to get to the tent with both pass and wrist band.... it might not happen soon, but it will happen! Sigh.

I do know that they checked ID on the Grand Marshall passes at least a couple of times.

I have never had my ID checked with my brass pass. Of course I am volunteering the first day at da beer tent. I don't know if that is the key or not.

There's a tent?
Yeah, buddy! Fresh fruit, Cafe au laits, clean (or relatively speaking) blue rooms and cover from r*#n if so desired (or not under the ZDC tent)

No ID at all.

I'm not sure what the deal is, but I was just booking some other flights and figured I'd take a look at fest flights on SideStep to see where they were on price and after seeing nothing under $700 out of Jackson Hole or Idaho Falls, I looked at the round trip cost out of Salt Lake City.
We're booked now for $180 per person round trip on United. There is a connection through Denver.
When I searched the same flight round trip out of Denver, it comes up as $445 per person round trip.
I'm not sure why the difference. Maybe United has specials out of SLC right now or something, maybe an error, but I've got the receipt and confirmation, so we're booked and anyone else traveling from this part of the country should definitely take a look on United's site. Our dates are Thursday April 23 through Monday May 4. I've tried some other dates and the $180 comes up, so there seems to be flexibility on dates.
Any idea why this might be Swag?

I've never been i.d.ed with the brass pass either . . .
When we ended up not being able to go much of 2nd weekend b/c Natalie was in the hospital, we shared with friends and they had no problem . . .
