I was in a record store in California a few weeks ago and was looking in their New Orleans section and found this record that says its from teh 1976 NO JazzFest and has Allen Touissant, Irma Thomas and many more. Anyone seen this before, is it a collectors item? It has the same picture on the cover as the 1976 poster.

It was sold on vinyl, cassette, and CD. All are now out of print. Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0000032WR/shatteredcrystal)sellers have used CD copies from $24.50 and up.

Were you at Canterbury's in Pasadena?? Sounds like something they'd have.

Hell yeah I bought it, it was maybe $5 I think. They had some other cool ones too, Sweet Emma and the Pres Hall Jazz Band, which I now wish I had bought but didnt. It was Amoeba Music in San Francisco.

Yeah I have that record. I'd say it's a collectors item....at least to this bunch here. I think some of it is recorded at Jazzfest and some in the studio. A very cool record to have.

That amazon record is the rhino reissue with a different cover. I like the orginal cover better.

That Sweet Emma is on CD and available at the hall ( last time I was there.) We do have that on vinyl as my sweetie got it signed by Sweet Emma herself back in the 70s...the possession of which I took as a sign of kismet a few years later when we met.

Its ironic you say that b/c the album they had for sale had some autographs too, not of sweet emma but of humphries and one or two of the other guys.
