Hey Now--- Jeff, Amy and Natalie, will you be able to make it? The timing is tough for me, as the day after the Jackson show , Bob Dylan is playing a ski resort above Salt Lake, (Deer Valley, which is a stunning setting for music, one of my favorite concert venues anywhere) and there is no way I will miss his show...... If I head up to Jackson, I will have to get up bright and early to drive back (a 5 hour haul) for Dylan.
That being said, catching George, Zig and Leo in Jackson would be an amazing thing, so let me know if you will be attending, so we could try and meet up at the Teton Brewing Company for a beer before the gig.

The only thing is the Center for the Arts where the show is taking place is a (gasp!) sit down kind of place! That won't work for this show! We saw Keb Mo there last Sunday and at least people got up for his encore.

I trust you and Jeff and Matthew will show 'em how it's done right!

Hey Now Jeff, Amy, Natalie--- Glad you are looking forward to what is certain to be a great night of music; I am still planning on zipping up for the the show, but I will have to play it by ear.....
Now that my dad is back in good health (he had a very rough 6 months, but is now doing great!!!) my mom feels that it is her time to have her back operated on--- she has been in a lot of pain for quite a while, and apparently has decided that surgery will be her best option. I just found out that it is set up for 8/27, two days before the show in Jackson....
While they figure she will only be in the hospital for a couple of days, I am going to have to see how she is doing before I would feel OK about leaving town....
Do you think (assuming all is well and I head up to Wyoming for the show) that I could get a ticket on the day of the show? How big a place is the venue?
Amy mentioned that it is a sit down kind of a gig, and that is also an issue, as I dont think I could stay seated for the infectious, funky grooves of George, Zig and Leo, although I would be fine heading to the back of the theater to jig....
All this in mind, I would LOVE to get together with you when you are in town for the lovely young Natalies' doctor's appointment here in Salt Lake. Please get in touch and be sure to let me know if there is anything I can do to help you guys out while you are here (borrow car, place to stay).
I look forward to seeing the Potter family soon, one way or another, Matthew

Matthew, I think the Jackson show is actually on the 27th, Wednesday. So I think you're probably going to be out of commission for this one. But we will be in town overnight on Sunday the 24th (Natalie has some tests at 8am Monday), would definitley like to get together for dinner! I don't think I have your email . . . What's the best way to contact you?

Matthew, I would say this will probably sell out. It's a couple hundred seats, but all the shows there are very well supported by the community. Of the three or four I've been to, only one was not an obvious sell out. I would not bet on getting a ticket the night of. As far as dancing, I'm with you on this one. I think we need to get in touch with some of the musicians and tell them to spread the word on having to give the crowd some encouragement to get up and dance, otherwise they will just sit.

Thanks you guys, I will need to decide what is the best choice for this one.... I am not really too worried about mom, as this is a routine procedure, and my dad and my sisters will be with her at the hospital, so she will have plenty of company, but you know how it is.....
I will talk to the folks and weigh my options.
I would love to get together here on the 24th, if you can find the time, so feel free to call when you can, and we can set up a place to meet up!!! Matthew 801-458-7165..... Again, anything I can do to help out while you are in town, PLEASE dont hesitate to ask---Matthew
