This past weekend, we were lucky enough to see Mr. and Mrs. Rosetree in Philadelphia, and Rosie has done yet another knock your socks off thing... seriously, I have got to tell ya'll about this...
He's done a new vase... no, not a just a vase, a totally beautiful, breathtaking piece of art... okay, so that's not exactly new is it? Well you've all got to see this new piece. It's called "Reeds and Rushes" and you can just see and feel the movement of the winds and the water in this piece, I kid you not! It's like you're feeling the ebb and flow of the water filling the wetlands when you see it! It's truly amazing! On top of it's beauty, Rosie really knocked me out by donating a portion of the sale of each piece to the "Voice of the Wetlands"... see, we really do have amazing friends!
I'm going to share with ya'll what it said on the little flyer that was sitting by the new piece...
Reeds and Rushes
Lines of multi-colored glasses curve elegantly evoking the grandeur of the American Wetlands in these majestic blown glass vases. Each vase is uniquely individual in the layering and texture of design as is each lush area of precious grassland. The rapidly disappearing wetlands are a major concern to the Gulf Coast, especially south Louisiana. A donation will be m ade to the "Voice of the Wetlands" for each vase sold in an effort to help save this important ecological treasure.
Under that, it's even noted that:
Voice of the Wetlands is a 501 (c) 3 organization devoted to raise the awareness to the crisis of wetlands loss and coastal erosion. Their website is: www.voiceofthewetlands.com
I hope we can coax Rosie into putting up a photo so you can see it... This is something that will remind you of the dire need to correct what has so desperately been abused along our coasts, especially in our very own, beloved Louisiana!
I am very proud to count Rosie as one of my dear and beloved friends... not only does his talent amaze me, but his generosity does as well... and I just enjoy his company and oddball humor! LOL

Yeah, baby, odd ball humor! That's something we all have in common, isn't it?
I wanted to post this before you had a chance to get back to a computer ... hehehe... and surprise ya, but my computer was needing a bunch of work and I just didn't have the op to work on it until this evening. Hope your flight back was a good one. I was so glad to be able to spend some time with Bren, too... and you, of course! BTW, I love the earrings I bought! LOL Wore a pair today and had lots of compliments on them...they really matched my jazz fest shirt with the alligators on it.
Oddball humor?????WTF! ;) :D

Here is the photo of the aforementioned "Reeds and Rushes" vases. They are 18" tall and come in 5 different colors.
Just to let y'all know, I never would have thought about doing a donation to Voice of the Wetlands without hearing about them and Tab and everyone else if I was not on this board. Even though I live in New Orleans, y'all have opened my eyes to many things that would have otherwise passed me by.....THANK YOU!!!!!

Mark,
What other colors/combinations are there? I believe you said there were five. The rooms in my house where primary colors would work in are not the ones where one would want to place a piece of breakable glass art. Are they all on the studio site?

See! I told ya'll that it was absolutely magnificent! I'm not sure which is my favorite... the grass and the sea (green and blue) or the dried and new grasses... (amber and green) - okay that's my take on 'em... I really do love these... sheesh... I can almost smell the salt marshes!

There is also something called museum past. You can get it at any craft store. It's a sticky clear gel sorta like funtack. It works great you just put a small amount on the bottem of the vase or bowl and it sticks to the shelf. I used it to "grandkid proof "my rosetree glass

Muff Man----I have one that is yellow on the top and blues on the bottom. Would that work? I don't have them on the site yet. I will be updating my site on Mondays during the rest of the summer. It's an ongoing project that I have been working on, but I don't seem to make headway! I am almost done with the wholesale site, then I will tackle the retail one....I'll send you an email with a picture when I get my crate back from Philly which has my samples in it.
