Hi Everyone!!!

Thanks for all the helpful info on VIP tickets for my recovering from surgery Hubby!

My question for you THIS time is .....how do you all meet up with each other? Many of you have met over the years but is there room for some newbies?

Yes I know there is a private party AFTER we leave. But this Virgin wants to meet some veterans (other newbies too) and the new cyber friends I found here.

Just curious.

Belle:
There are meet-ups at the fest at Ms.Lena's (the Zulu Diamond Cutters beer tent), and at the Patry, also the patry @ my studio. Don't feel intimidated 'cause you're a newbie. To tell you the truth, I have only been on da bored for less than a year, and the meet-ups at the fest will be my first too (although I did go to the festgiving celebration at the Jamn's). You will find this krewe to be a fun-loving, nice bunch of people!!! Just show up and you'll fit in!;) :D

For sure Belle, as it gets closer you'll get more info. We've all been newbies once and although you may feel nervous, it's totally cool and many of the threadheads have become my closest friends :) Hope to see you at Ms. Lena's!!!!

BELLE!!!
Holy Smokes. Winchester??? Really? Mr. Soul's parents live in Berryville. He was born and raised in Loudoun County and we lived in Loudoun for the first 10 years we were married. Small world, hunh? You should definately make one of the meet ups behind Ms. Lena's beer tent (Look on the map that will come out later to find it). You'll meet a bunch of nice folks. Sounds like you're attending 1st weekend.? Mr. Soul & I will be 2nd weekend. Too bad. I'd like to buy you one of Ms. Lena's cold, cold ones.
Girl, get ready. You're gonna' have to time of your life at Fest and be prepared to become addicted!!!!

Belle, those of us who have met, were newbies too and thru this board decided to go to a meet-up. Then the snowball starts to roll downhill! LOL!

Sounds like you got answers to your question. I hope to get to meet you, too. I have a question for you. We spent the night in Winchester on our way back home from PA last summer. What's the status of the Patsy Cline Museum?

After the cubes (stage & time schedules) come out, we'll look for the gaps early afternoon and set the meet-up time. All are welcome.

Belle, as Fest time approaches, we'll put a quality map of the fairgrounds up on threadheads.org, for folks to download. It will have Ms. Lena's booth clearly marked.

just look for the people with funny hats and buttons all over their clothes.

they may not be threadheads, but they'll most likely be friendly and helpful too.

Also as the jazzfest approaches, there will be posts about who is seeing what shows at night. so that's another way to meet up.

then we'll spin you around and test you on the names.

i can hardly remember my name most of the time, so i just call everyone 'darlin'.

Hey Now Belle, Matthew from Salt Lake here. I was also apprehensive about how I would fit in with a group that seemed like they already had known each other for years, but when I went to my first meet up at Ms. Lenas' I could not have been made to feel more welcome and at home!!! (this was only 2 short years ago) This is a great group, and since that initial meeting, I have had the great pleasure of hanging out with other Threadheads all over the place.( San Francisco, New York, Jackson Hole, Las Vegas, Connecticut, Austin ) For me, this board has done the impossible; that is, to make me look even MORE forward to Jazzfest!!! Please dont hesitate to jump right in, I know you will love this group!!! See you all soon. Matthew

You had such a great langiappe one year! Barb handed out buttons that said "Hi My Name Is" with a blank space to write your name on it with a sharpie. It helped me a lot all week Barb ... never forogt my name once!
