Guessing "Paul Ceber" on August 5 is a typo and should read "Paul Cebar." Go see him.

Thanks Lit! Interesting sound...I like it! knew it was a matter of time before someone introduced me to someone I've never heard. :D

Thats the great thing about this fest, with over 300 artists your bound to discover someone that you had no idea existed!

Whoa--the few tunes I sampled on his myspace page sound much, much different than the music I've known from him for almost 15 years. Sounds like he's going through a bit of a Tom Waits-type dissonant noise phase. I got turned on to him at Fest and have seen him many times since all over and he usually plays great, danceable, grooveable New Orleans style roots, soul and rhythm and blues (although he's from Wisconsin). Check out his disc Upstroke for the Downfolk. Some great tunes on there. I'm guessing his performance will be a very, very good one.

Hey Tabasco, we wish we could join you! But we've got Riverfront Blues Fest in Delaware next weekend and we're too busy at work right now to go on a weeknight. Maybe next year. But here's some recommendations:

The Doughboys: a Brit invasion-influenced garage rock band who cut two singles in the 60's and then broke up a few years later. They got back together a few years ago for the drummer's 50th birthday and picked up exactly where they left off. They finally released their first album, and it's great.

Two of our favorite national blues acts to see live: Lil Ed and the Blues Imperials, and Tommy Castro. And two more local blues acts worth checking out: Deb Callahan and Peter Karp.

Ryan Shaw Aug 7. Young R n B singer singing old school R n B. Grammy nominated last year for best traditional R n B album. Saw him a few weeks ago with R n B legend Otis Clay. Opened with a beautiful acapella 'Many Rivers To Cross', killed on Marley's Redemption Song, and turned J. Geils 'Looking For a Love' into a slower old school groove. His originals are good too, 'Do The 45' sounds like a Jr.Walker song reincarnated. Check him out.

Yes, an empty souvenir mug costs $9.00 you can have it filled for $5...or should I say 10 tickets. You can use mugs from past Musikfests, which is what we do...

The the souvenir mugs hold 22oz if you dont have one I think the regular cups hold 16oz.
