Here are some other guys pics from the party in Chicago at the Saints' game. I don't use websites for my pics and would have to attach them to the post, but I'm not allowed. My pics are basically the same. Page 1 has pics of the pre-game party in the Hilton and Page 2 is the march to Soldier Field through Grant Park.

So I am reading about how brutal the Bears fans were to the Saints fans. I see this guys Facebook says "I hope Chicago burns to the ground" (original but newsflash..it already happend) and I see some Saints fan with his Chalmette Reebok that says "fuck da Bears" while flipping off the camera. Am I to believe that there was absolutlely no provocation on the part of the N.O. fans? I didnt fall off the turnip truck. And while I think adults who get into fights and act stupid at sporting events are just plain stupid, I also know it takes two to tangle. I apologize for the entire city for those buffoons who were drunk and obnoxious and ruined peoples time. It sickens me that my city was made to look bad to out of town folks. However, I would bet dollars to doughnuts that more then one Saints fan acted a fool as well.

Mike - i agree, there was probably stupidity on BOTH sides...now, can we possibly stop these threads and move on to the important stuff, we're less than 100 days away from Jazz Fest...where you just KNOW we'll ALL GET ALONG ;)

I was actually pretty shocked to hear of the Bears fans boorish behavior. Some of them are not the sharpest crayons in the box and if you add alcohol to the mix...Look out. But the pre-game rhetoric was quite tame in the press etc. and the players themselves have been extremely low key and non-trash talking. There hasnt even been that much stuff about the Colts. I am through posting about this. The letters to the editor are in todays Chicago Tribune...Including one written by a Chicagoan. So for one last time, here is an apology to the innocent Saint fans that were victims of drunken idiots. Its a real shame that your opinion of Chicago and its people was shaped by these same said idiots. I dont blame you one bit for not wanting to come back up here...Which is also a real shame.

I feel compelled to reply to ChicagoMike's diatribe and I'll let him decide if he wants to make a rebuttal, but I will stop at this post.
1) The guy with the boot just so happens to hang out with the angel caught on Fox's broadcast of the Eagle game with the F-- da eagles shirt. A great couple indeed but words written on a boot that noone in 20 degree weather is going to bother to look down to read is a FAR cry from a sign hanging from your neck that actually hung from Soldier Field the ENTIRE game.
2) Having snowballs thrown at you with batteries embedded is a FAR cry from hurling verbal insults. And no sir, no provocation was made other than walking down an aisle before halftime.
3) Having Chicago's finest law enforcement officers inform you that "your on your own during the bears' game" makes me feel a million times safer attending a game anywhere in the U.S. besides Chicago.
4) If someone's personal title on a personal site offends you, I'd hate to see your reaction if terrorists flew a United plane into the Sears Tower and a fan telling you that it's too bad you weren't in it when it happened. Like the bears' fan yelling, "why didn't you drown?" and "how can someone living in a Fema trailer afford to come to Chicago?'
I just can't see how you can sit there and type a defense for this. Done.

Sorry Brah but If my response to you seems to be a "diatribe", I would hate to see your reaction if I really did post one. I know spending my hard earned cash to see not one but two Baton Rouge Saints games dosent give me a right to comment on a web page YOU posted. If you tell me as a man it was entirely the fault of 60k Neanderthals at Soldier Field, I will take your word for it because I was not there. It didnt get much press here. Next year if the Saints have a better record the Bears, maybe there will be a re-match at the Superdome.

I don't believe that Chicago Mike was trying to defend the behavior of the Bears fans. In fact he even apologized for them in his first post. You have to expect some difference from pumped up sports fans when you come into their stadium and root against their team. Especially in a Championship game.
I have been up in neighboring Milwaukee to see a SOX/ Brewers game and had my ass handed to me. Hell I've been in my home town of Chicago at Wrigley Field and been harassed by the fans, ( I was wearing a White Sox Jersey).
On another note..
I wish I could have been in Chicago to watch the Bears/ saints game but I was in New York at a bar which was packed with New Orleans fans. I met up with Tangledupinblue, from the jazzfest board, and her friends to enjoy the game.
At the end of the 3rd quarter I told Tangled's significant other, who is from New Orleans, " It's a 4 point difference, it's still anybody's game, may the best team win". He was disappointed at he end of the game but ultimately congratulated us.
Go Bears!
