I just caught an episode of Guy Fieri / Diners, Drive-ins and Dives on Food Network. One of the featured places was the Rivershack Tavern.

I've been there a couple of times for a beverage, and maybe had a burger. But on the episode, they showed some pretty amazing-looking and non-bar-like dishes. Besides the requisite red beans and rice, they showed rabbit with spaetzle; peanut-crusted soft-shell crab; braised lamb shank; and turtle soup.

I had no idea.

I think the Rivershack changed owners a fews years back (but I'm not sure on that) and it went from a biker bar to a bar with music and better food.

We went there for lunch on Saturday and had wonderfully prepared food (a grilled tuna filet on caesar salad, and a grilled tuna filet sammich w/sweet potato fries)!!

I hadn't been there in many years, but it's just as good (and the food is better) as it was the last time I went there and decided that three of my favorite words in the English language are "River" "Shack" "Tavern" . . .
