Fundraising is officially closed for Shamarr Allen, The Nightcrawlers and The Marc Stone Band. For those of you who have pledged checks and haven't sent them in, please do so asap. When all is said and done, we will be at around 18K for Shamarr, 5K for Marc Stone Band and about 11k for the Nightcrawlers. All the goals we set have been eclipsed...

I can post the $$ received spreadsheets by person for each project...however, I'm not sure if some would want me to disclose that info. What's the opinion on that?

ozzie
06-24-2008, 08:48 AM
I'm not fussed, but what would be the reason to do so?

chrisjoseph
06-24-2008, 08:53 AM
only to show that the level of support (the number of people) is AMAZING.

funkkjunkie
06-24-2008, 08:54 AM
Just a number of people involved in the projects would be cool.

You could post just the number of donors for each project, the amounts of the biggest & smallest donations, and the total number of donors overall. With no names, that shows the scope of the support yet still protects privacy for any who might want it.

chrisjoseph

I like that approach.

Marc Stone Band project:

Goal was $4,000
Total raised to date: $4,050
More expected: about $1,000

Total donors: 25
Contributions ranged from $50 to $500

I do too. We are advocating that folk can send as little as five bucks and it might be detrimental to the cause if amounts and names are published. Not that I think it's anything to be alarmed about... a bunch of five bucks adds up to a whole lot and should be celebrated.

Note that the number of donors is actually more, if you count couples that contributed, rather than the number of checks.

We're going to do a presentation to Shamarr at this Friday's show here in Los Angeles...but that is top secret! He doesn't read the chat board, does he?

Ran into Shamarr at WWOZ. Says "he knows." Said "what, do they think I dont get on there and read the posts?" HE brought it up. He was handing out his birthday invite postcards. Got a stack and helped hand out to local shops. Bar tender at Bubba Gumps like the list playing and said she'd be there. Hehehe. Shamarr, honey, will send you the video clip of your spotted cat jam wed nt. Wish I'd be able to come back down sooner for your bday.
I KNOW I will be missing out on a good time.

Yes, he will read this, esp. a thread about him! He feeds off the
energy and motivation everyone on here gives him. He loves the
support, so why wouldn't he read it? Congrats Shamarr! Real pleasure
meeting you, several times, and glad I got to see you jam. You made
my trip! Video on its way to your site. :-X

If Shamarr reads this board (he's got all that extra time on his hands, you know?), I'll be a monkey's uncle. ;)
