HI, Bonnie! Congrats to you on your hometown team! :)

Have to confess, though, that I'm not a big fan of ML sports, except baseball.

What I saw this week, sports-wise, that moved me was the match between the Swedish and Russian soccer teams. Whew! Those guys can play!

HOME TOWN???
I fear Bonnie isn't a big enough sports fan to understand the N.Y vs. Boston hostility....
My girl Bonnie is a Noo Yawka, born & raised, happens to live in that city where they tahk funny...
Even tho I rooted for the Celts this time, PLEASE don't ever confuse the 2 (I'm from NYC too!)

revjimk, no worries, Hoss! Even a provincial Buckeye like me knows the difference between the Big Apple and Beantown. The latter is where they threw the big Tea Party and wear those funny tri-corn hats.

The former is where you might see a tattooed, trans-gendered couple walking down the street hand in hand while they take Fido out for a walk. And America needs this, if we are all to truly express ourselves in this Land of the Free. :)

As for the sports rivalries, I understand that this exists everywhere. But I don't get it. Even though I like Boston and its considerable charm, I favor NYC due to the cultural advantages, its superior mass-transit system, and the friendly natives.

Its just something we create for adrenaline rush from pseudo warfare situation.
If you think about it, doesn't make any sense at all. We're all just sports fans who want our team to win. Very few of the players are even from the town they play in.
But its fun, so....
Congratulations, Celtics!
Screw you, Bahston!
