Langerado Festival in Ft. Lauderdale [Archive] - New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival

Only noticed that event for the first time last year about this time... Had already made plans for some friends from Mass. to come hang with us for some beachin', fishin', and some always popular Grapefruit League action (i.e. drinkin' while watchin' spring training baseball)...

this year is wide open and I'm ready to soak up the sounds, the suds, and the sun.... Great lineup and who can't fall in love with those ticket prices... Any advice as to the venue........

Hey Paulc, I was thinking you were close enough to meet us over there.
There are a bunch of us coming down this year.
We are staying for a really good price at the Best Western Sawgrass
1711 N University Dr
Plantation, FL

I got if for $93 a night, which is much better than the list of hotels that Langerado site gives you. (Have to call them directly and ask for the "managers special") Most other hotels are over $125 a night.

I heard that the camping isn't the best for different reasons but I have never done it. I think Sh(a)y did it last year. HEY SH(A)Y??? YOU OUT THERE?

We are doing the night show for Michael Franti on Saturday as well. Mofro plays three times at the festival so we are going to skip their night show on Friday night.
The music goes from 11am to 10pm at the festival. That is NUTS!

Let me know as time gets closer if you decide to come. We have a great crew coming down.

I'd greatly appreciate it. I cannot go, unfortunately my financial situation isn't good enough right now to do langerado and jazzfest, had a housing project get delayed by permit issues, so I need to focus my money on JF.

tangled, i know several folks who go to this. some from pdkk and some who go to wakarusa. It's a great time and i'm looking forward to it. I can't do it and jazzfest until I quit teaching. So jazzfest always wins. It's just 4 or 5 fests away after this one. YYR!
u do Wakarusa? we were thinking about it this year. friends go every year, this year they're doing the vip deal.

I've been all 3 years,barb. Upgraded camping the first year and vip the last two. Vip gets better every year. Last year was my first year to go solo and luckily I had some great camping neighbors from chicago who helped me with that last pole on my tent. I checked out the waka forum last week and vip is on sale and comes to $488 a ticket. That's for camping that's not near as crowded as general camping, 2 meals and snacks thurs-sun, front of stage viewing and all the fat tire beer, water and cokes you want. Last year deep fried pickle project came over to the vip area and did a special set on wed night after the vip potluck that one of the campers organized. Great fun but i'll probably skip this year as my school runs later into june this year.

I didn't camp, so I don't know much about the set up. Looks like their taking out a stage this year...kind of a bummer, but I'm not complaining. The Jacket AND Franti on the same day might just make my head (and knees) explode!!! =)

Well no surprise to me, but the person who agreed to buy my tickets is now not responding to my emails. I assume she bought tix elsewhere. Knew it was going to happen and I should have sold to a guy who lives about 30 minutes driving that definitely would have taken them...now he doesnt need them either.

So if anyone needs 2 camping tix, looking to sell mine (again). They were $435 (face+fees). Let me know.

Hey baby! Yea, Jude thought Mofro was playing more than once for some crazy reason. We may try to catch the Stanton Trio/Mofro on Friday but I do not want to wear myself out for Saturday and Sunday. Just got back from Florida and it was SO beautiful. 80's and sunny! Can't wait.
Seeing Jules and Charlie on Friday for Backyard Fire Tire and Oteil.
Can't wait to see ya down in the sun and great music!

This festival was this past week-end. Langerado is this coming week-end.

oh ho ho ho .... it will not be hard to convince Craig to get a sitter for this! (Praying that baby bluedog gets better she has been sicky this week with fever and nasty cough.) Just checked out the line-up AND IT IS SWEET! and WSP is his one of Craig's faves! Hopefully tix are still available ... have to check it out it just might be do-able for last minute plans ... it would be just a day trip for us though but what day does WSP play? anybody know?

OH MAN, just got back last night! The weather was amazing. We were all saying, "man, this feels like jazzfest weather"

My highlights were: Taj Mahal, New Orleans Social Club, Galactic, Mofro, Michael Franti and Spearhead. Damn Michael has some serious energy.

Mofro was great. His mic didn't work for the first half of the first song BUT the show kicked A#&. I love those guys and the new CD is amazing.

I didn't make the night show but heard it rocked. It was their CD release party so it had to be great!

Sunday was awesome because we opened the day with New Orleans Social Club and then next on that stage was Taj Mahal. It was mini JF!!!
