Brad And Angelina Sell Their New Orleans Home

Despite professing a great deal of love for the quality of life in New Orleans, the Jolie-Pitt clan have nevertheless decided to sell off their $3.5 million dollar home in the city’s French Quarter. The brief two-year residence worked out well for Pitt’s filming of the flick The Curious Case of Benjamin Button — as well as his work with the Make It Right NOLA foundation.

Same block as Tujague's. My old bartender tatught me to say everytime I turned onto Madison from Chartres, "Madison! Shortest street in the city." Apparently the old theater they had in there was very cool. Ms. Jammin, was that around when you frequented that area?

Lit: As you probably know, there is only one "real" female role in that show; Mary, for which I was the understudy & got to play the night my parents came & Easter Sunday. But I had the other female role, the Woman at the Well (a 6 bar solo - LOL!). My character was not named in the play. She confronts Peter & he denies Jesus by singing: "Surely, you're ,mistaken......" The cast members called me "Shirley" for the whole run of the show.... ;)

Very cool IBJ. Been a big fan since the release of the original album, when, as a young'un, I would amuse my family by singing and acting out "King Herod's Song," which remains a favorite today (and still an integral part of my "repertoire"). I own the disc and still listen to it at least annually for about a month around Easter time. The music on that original recording is still fantastic imo. So many great songs. And I loved Yvonne Elliman; still remember how blown away I was to learn that she was the same woman who sang with Clapton on "The Core" (among other songs). You must have some serious pipes if you played that role. As for the Woman at the Well and Peter's Denial; isn't that the scene that ends with Peter declaring: "I DON'T KNOW HIM!"? Funny how I can still remember even now how disappointed I was with Peter for that denial when I was a kid.

As compared with the greatness of that original album, I was also disappointed with the movie, the movie soundtrack, and the London cast recording. Murry Head was outstanding imo; tough to replace him and Yvonne.

That's the scene.:) My entire solo was: "I think I've seen you somewhere, I remember, you were with that man, they took away, I recognize your face."
I, too, had the original cast album, but I loved themovie too, which I still watch around Easter..Jesus was a little screechy, but I loved the rest of the cast. ;) Yvonne was in the movie too. It's a wonderful score. I just reconnected last year with the guy who played Herod in our production, 33 years later, it was crazy.

Gawd, if I ever have to take another class, I'm going to hire you to take it for me! ;)
It was a cast party for my 23rd birthday (with Happy Birthday, Shirley spelled out in red hots on the cake.) in the director's apartment above the theater. It was awful and completely embarrassing, but I was very young and didn't drink much back then.
(Owens is my maiden name.)

PS. While Willie was posting that link, I was reminiscing about Gallery Circle & I googled on the theater, the show, etc & nothing relevant came up. I had no idea that site or picture was out there!

When I was that age, I didn't drink much, either. I remember a girls night out once upon a time. My housemate, 2 other friends and I went out to see a band and dance. It seemed like guys never wanted to be caught dead dancing back then, so we thought we'd have more fun if we left the guys at home. Or where ever!

I was seeing this jealous guy at the time and when my friends and I rolled in, he pulled in behind us in his car. My pals went in house, so I was standing there in the driveway listening to the BF rag on my ass for "whoring around", blah, blah, blah.

He asked me a question and when I opened my mouth to answer, it wasn't words that came out if it. Projectile vomiting all over his suede, knee-high boots with the hooks, speed lacing, I think it is called! I turned and went into the house. BF got in the car and drove off.

One of the good things about getting older is that you have a better handle on how to gauge the liquor. BTW, the BF never wore those boots again! :D

I was actually just thinking about how smart that (beautiful) couple is...

I recall reading that they originally paid $3.5 million for that house a year and a half ago. They've lived there for 18 months, and if they had to actually rent something like that, they likely would have paid in the range of $20-$25,000 per month. At the end of the day, they've managed to maintain a beautiful home with a massive three story guest suite for a year and half, and it basically cost them nothing! The icing on the cake is that the house is now "enhanced" by the whole Brangelina factor...pretty cool!
