I've always said that my vote goes to the person who brings New Orleans to the platform.
I'm still waiting......:(
How come it is that blatantly obvious to so many and so forgotten to those that could help? ?????????

Dr. John and the Lower 911 are set to perform on CBS' "Late Night with David Letterman" on June 17, 2008 (check local listings.)
That same evening, they will perform in New York City at the Highline Ballroom in celebration of the release of the album City That Care Forgot. The album offers up pointed and political lyrics coupled with the rollicking good time New Orleans party vibe that made Dr. John a legend. -Goldmine (magazine)

Not directly related, but interesting nonetheless from an arts perspective. At least it's SOMETHING.

Yes Delta, that's interesting. But as an artist living in New Orleans, I can live with the current climate for artists in New Orleans a lot easier if changes where made to the national policy in regard to helping New Orleans get back on her feet.

Here's the Fact Sheet from the Obama '08 web site. To be fair, I'm about to search McCain's.

There's nothing on McCain's web site specifically about New Orleans. This is the best I could find:

I wish this were true. I hopped across this the other day in hopes of finding a tune to play on my show and didn't find much that fit this description. He's sad, he's mad, and the music reflects this. I hope things aren't taking too hard a toll on Mac, as he's not getting any younger.

He's playing at the Playboy Jazz Festival on Saturday. If we get tickets, I'll report back. I've not heard good reviews of his shows lately.
