Now this is a great lineup (http://musicroadman.com/2008/05/16/2008-telluride-blues-and-brews-festival-lineup-announced-sept-12-14/) for the middle of September...

Went last year for the first time and had an awesome time. Altitude kicked my butt for the first couple days but other than that it rocks. Also went to their Jazz Festival (http://www.telluridejazz.org/index.htm) last year but they moved it up a couple months for 2008 and I am still recovering from a light wallet at JazzFest or I would be there again.

Any other T-Heads going????

I may be going with wife and kids. It is not too bad a drive from Phoenix. T-Ride is such a beautiful place and a great venue for music. The T-Ride Bluegrass Festival line up looks good too, but we won't make that one.

Hey Now--- I strongly encourage anyone interested to check out live music in Telluride, one incredible place to enjoy a show..... I attended the Telluride Bluegrass Festival for 6 or 7 years, and while quite pricey (especially for lodging, which makes Jazzfest look cheap), it was always an amazing time. I saw such greats as Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, James Taylor, Bob Dylan, Bonnie Raitt, The Band, John Hiatt, and many, many others, in a stunning mountain canyon setting. Telluride is still at heart a small ski town, and is not nearly as developed as Aspen, Park City, Sun Valley, Vail or the like, so lodging is limited and expensive. I would recommend looking into reservations early, but if anyone does decide to attend, I am certain they will have a memorable experience!!! PS--- Telluride is 6 hours from Salt Lake...... If on your way to T-Ride you will be passing thru SLC, there is plenty of room for friends here, so get in touch! Have a funky weekend, Matthew

roadman,.. what an incredible spot to party.... where were you hangin' stage wise last year???... and did you do jukebox thing at night??...

the lineup this year tops the last two,.. which were none too shabby themselves... always a new orleans taste to be found there... the far betta' half and i were lucky enough to be there in 06 and 07... did the full boat two yrs. ago,.. but jus' a quickie last year... our desire (read: mostly desire of otha' half) to see more of the incredibly beautiful area made last year jus' a 24 hr. stop ova' in telluride... but we did those 24 up the right way,.. day and night... managed a couple of pretty decent pics of that grace potter cutie,.. as i'm sure you did too!!!... front row center for the middle sets of the day... i gotta say my night time vantage point of her juke box show was pretty tuff to beat too... pics on request....

how did that weather hold out for you last year?? ...

friday in telluride was as good a day as days get... great temps and a fantastic mix of sunbath and gorgeous floatin' clouds.. but sat and sun we ran into more than a few fast movin' thunder storms as we explored the nearby area... the mesa verde cliff dwellings were other worldly as we spent the entire late afternoon by ourselves on sat... lightening strikes drove out the few other people who were there... we stayed and loved it.... jus' a few drizzles of rain over our heads but off in the distance there was an incredibly beautiful mix of sun,.. dramatic clouds,.. rain sheets,.. and bolts of thor ova' the mesas and cliff side dwellings...

sunday we spent the entire mornin' in the valley of the gods in utah,.. wow,.. wow,.. wow!!!!... around noon we got back on the road,.. which is a non stop visual treat... we were hopin' to get back to telluride to close out the fest but the weather looked kinda dicey up that way... headed ova' to durango instead because it looked sunny... it was... but we were ravenously hungry so we had dinner at a great bar while we watched some football amongst the bronco homies.... sun always helps when you're sittin' inside drinkin' and watchin' football... then headed up to silverton where we got rained on in buckets upon arrivin'... managed to stay "dry" drinkin' some fine local brews in a very ol' bar downtown,.. handlebars....

enjoyed the can't be beat scenery on million dollar highway a few times on that trip... also hung out in taos and santa fe in new mexico... drove about 1,200 miles that week but almost every minute of it was beyond cool... 8 days iis no where near enough time to do the four corner area up right...

sorry to bore people with the travel stories but if you are considerin' goin' to telluride for the blues and brews,.. by all means do it!!!.. no more beautiful a spot exists for a fest... way more laid back than new orleans,.. but very cool in it's own richy rich way... as matthew mentioned big bucks for a night sleep in telluride,.. but we took a piece of a shared condo and that worked out jus' fine... the year before i pulled a rabbit out of the hat and got an incredible last second steal of a deal at hotel telluride which is 5 star all the way...

go,..go,..go to the blues and brews... two huge thumbs up... but save some time to do a few otha' things if ya' can...

You are going to love T-Ride willwn. I've been three times and plan on going to many more. I spent all my money in NOLA for JF so I won't make it this year. Are you camping or hotelling it?

Those lineups are sweet. And it's all on one stage there so you won't miss a thing if you don't want to. I noticed they will be offering some camping so that keeps the price down. Unfortunately though, you are right on top of each other at Town Park

I am seriously considering going this year

Did the VIP thing last year so I was up front of the stage and caught a few of the shows at nite, was a great time and thinking of going up a few days earlier to catch a prime campsite. Weather was good most of the weekend, but Sunday the rains came down and wound up leaving my tent behind....

Ah, yes, reminds me of the first Wakarusa festival when "the storm" hit. Woke up the next morning to find a tent rolled up against one of our tents. We were skairt to look inside but finally did and it was empty.
