king kong was breathing down my neck,
drums beating intensely....
then i woke up....lol....
spent a week up in the mountains north of asheville,n.c. studying
under 10 master african musicians and dancers.....
im slowly starting to promote shows around new orleans...
starting june10th the Voodoo Room in the rear of Voodoo BBQ at
ST. Charles and Martin Luther King will be hosting music every
tuesday nite from 6-9pm...its a good little room, with its own bar,
and outdoor seating area.....food is pretty good....
Marc Stones band will be jammin there....
also I will be promoting African music at venues around the city...
weve been invited back to the Hi Ho Lounge on June 14th for one
nite of great African music, and some jazz thrown in to spice things
up a little more....Seguenon Kone is the featured artist....
at our first show Jason Marsalis, Tom Mcdermott,Martin Krusche,
and other musicians were in attendance, and are now supporters
of strengthening the african music scene in new orleans....
I ask for the help of Threadhead Nation in supporting these shows...
Also if any threadheads in the southeast have any connections in
promoting shows in their home city, maybe we could have a little
regional tour going...some of the african musicians im friendly with
live in Atlanta, Gainseville,Fl., and around South Carolina....
And if any locals have club connections I would greatly appreciate
the help....
