Amy and Jeff (and Natalie) stopped by yesterday and dropped off all of the remaining raffle winners stuff to be shipped.
There are about 40 packages for us to pack and ship. We have started already, but it may take some time to get all of them out.

Hi Rosetree...I noticed on the raffle prize list Swag posted that I won three prizes: 86 recipes - New Orleans edition, Mardi Gras Indians Book, and Norah Jones live in New Orleans DVD. I can't believe I won so many great things...woohoo! :)

I am happy to pay for shipping of any prize that I won and didn't get and it seems like others feel the same way.....

so - what if you just slipped a note in the box on how much it cost to ship? Those who want to reimburse you can - and those who don't - won't....

Got my first package today with the Dan Morgan painting and the Montana print, both safe and sound. Thanks!!

The Montana print just moved to the top of the framing list. Have to find a place for the painting. Tried it over the fireplace, but it doesn't really work. Plus, the boss isn't home tonight and has not seen it yet. Although she loves most of my New Oleans art, she kind of inimated that we had enough when this year's psoters came last week. I was clearly told that the master bedroom is off limits!

Ozzie- If you read this, I'd be interested to know the history of the painting. How you came to get it,etc.

Nothing too interesting to tell Griff. Dan Morgan jumped on the bored after the storm and was promoting sales of prints for a painting he was doing of Preservation Hall. Supposedly giving a chunk of the profit to NOMC (I think). I contacted him and asked about purchasing the original, which I did.

I really like the painting, but it just doesn't do it in our joint. Finally I hung it over our old piano (which actually looks like it belongs in Pres Hall!), but that room is pretty dark and it did neither the painting nor the room any justice. Of course now I need to get something nice and colourful for over the piano! ;)
