uggh...no shit...she stepped on my kid's toe at the Spotted Cat doing her shitty whirling dervish crap and made Sammy's toe bleed. THEN, she got her hair caught in Sammy's earring....I was ready to slug that chick!

Eeeuw. One of the reasons this was such a good fest - never saw anat.

she stepped on me too that night....at that point I actually did raise my fist and she caught sight of it out of the corner of her eye lol....then she looked away and kept going...didn't give a shit. I've NEVER hit anyone in my life but I'm telling ya, year after year that chica gets in my face somewhere somehow. It's absolutely ridiculous!
(btw, it was reflex, I'd never hit anyone....I'm a cupcake lol!)

I guess I should consider myself very lucky . . . I have NEVER seen Anat at fest. Beatle Bob, either. :)

Where is THIS fest you go to? It was a pleasure this year, but I've seen BB at every stage except the Kid's. This is the first time in sixteen years that I didn't see him (no, I take that back, he did the other weekend one time about ten years ago when he and I weren't at both).

Our buddy, festival icon and free spirit, Wing passed away.

I read about it a few weeks ago, via Swag's bulletin, and was trying to get some confirmation. An email from Wing was composed before he passed away appeared in Chris Rose's column is the confirmation. Harry received it and is quoted in the column (you may know Harry from going to one of the "everyone loves Harry" jazzfest brunches in FSJ) .

This has me thinking of my friend Glenski (http://www.petdekat.com/reviews/glenn.htm) who had a heart attack near the Iced Tea stands in 1995 during the Fest and passed away (I can't believe it's been 13 years).

If not at Fest or The Spotted Cat, I have always seen Anat at the Louisiana Music Factory, and I was surprised I didn't see her this year and was thinking how nice it was not to see her, as she is always an extremely unpleasant "in your face" distraction that's impossible to ignore, but it was so crowded at most of the popular in-stores, that she wouldn't have had anywhere to dance. There's another woman who she pals around with who is almost as awful as she is ...

Hey Steve,

Here's the thread where we all recently discussed Wing's passing.

We never found out his real name, did we?

Or do we want to? Is it better to remember him simply as "Wing"?
