For those who might have an "in"...when will tickets go on sale? any truth to the rumor that the Iguanas will play?

I haven't heard anything yet.....I wouldn't doubt it about the Iguanas though. Miss 2For is gonna go nuts it it's true! :)

I tried to get the Iguana's for the Patry last year...they wanted to much $$. Maybe with the expansion of word of mouth we'll be able to negotiate a better price for another year.
and I totally wouldn't doubt they are playing at Ingrids...a couple of them were milling around the crowd last year.
Like Auntie Henn, I wasn't planning on going, but I'll be at Ingrids if they are playing...

i would imagine there are other private parties during the daze. possibly this is some upscale bash that can afford the Iguanas - or a friend of the band's birthday.
i hope Ingrid is not offended by the people who would only come to her party if there was an A-list band.

They were helping out a friend definitely...Anders was there last year too.
I didn't mean I'd only go if it were an A list band but a band that one really enjoys is certainly a draw at ANY event.

Last year, Ingrid's was happily accepting cash at the door. But I'm sure they appreciate advance tix, if for no other reason than to gauge the amount of food/drink/portolets.

Yep, they did have a buy online option and they put you on the list, but it wasn't much in advance of fest.
I was planning on going regardless, this just makes it all the better :) :)

We will be in town on Wednesday, May 2 and will stay thru Sunday. Driving in from Mobile, only 2 hours away.

Hi Mariena - welcome!
Last year Ingrid Lucia (see www.ingridlucia.com (http://www.ingridlucia.com)) hosted a backyard music bbq at her house in mid-city. Her band, Anders Osborne, members of Bonerama, Jeff & Vida, & others performed. It was cheap, fun, and a real New Orleans treat. She hasn't made an official announcement yet, but we have heard it will happen again this year -again on Wednesday between JF weekends. Last year I think it ran something like 5-10 pm or so. You can be sure that further info will appear here as it becomes available. Hope to see you there!

I'm not sure if I'm going this year or not. Last year a few of us met at da square to hear a bit of Marcia Ball before going on to Ingrid's.

I'd like to think I'll make it this year BUT after the patry all day, then to Dragon Smoke until 5 a.m., then getting my daughter off to the airport....not sure if I'll be in the same condition I was in last year. I really would love to see the Iguanas at her party. BTW, last year WAS A-list music for me- Anders and Bonerama plus Ingrid and a few others.

Hey, barb. It's kinderkitti. Good to see ya. I can't imagiine ingrid being offended by folks wanting to attend because of the music that will be there. Isn't that what it's all about-going where the music takes ya?

Does anyone know about Cinco De Mayo? Used to be a great street party down in the WH district. Iguanas play every year, I think. Or used to.
Last three years I couldn't find any info on this excellent fest.
