I'm not addicted. I can stop for hours at a time, and I've been able to do this for about 6 or 7 years now. I just takes willpower.

THREADHEAD 12-STEP PROGRAM
http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2003-1/86486/steps.gif
We:
admit we are powerless over our need to check the Jazzfest board—that our online lives had become consumed by the threads
come to believe that only the power of Jazzfest can restore us to sanity.
make a decision to turn our time and our money over to Jazzfest.
make a searching inventory of our Jazzfest backpacks.
admit to ourselves, and to the threadheads, our secretive trips to check the board when we should be working
are entirely ready to boogie at Jazzfest.
humbly ask all threadheads to overlook our comfortable shoes, sunburned skin and funny dance moves.
make a list of all persons we have met on the board, and become willing to meet them at Lena’s booth
buy beers and give lagniappe to those people wherever possible
continue to check the cubes and grids in search of the perfect music
seek through music to gain joy and happiness
having had a musical awakening as the result of these steps, we try to carry this message to music lovers everywhere and promise to return to the threadhead board each year

;) I gave into the addiction last year, i just keep repeating those 12 steps, but it doesn't seem to be helping me kick the habit, it only seems to make the addiction stronger ;)

That's one of the very many great things about working from home . . . my cat has learning to quit giving me crap about my time on the Boreds! ;)

So you think I might be addicted?

I'm posting on this thread simply to up my post count. I'm addicted to reading the thread and stop by several times a day. I don't post as much because it seems the "regulars" have all met in person. One of these years I'll be able to go all 10 days and get to the Patry. Until then...I lurk.

Not True! Many of us posting have not met. Besides, you don't have to go to the patry to meet everybody. Every fest day there is a meet-up behind Ms. Lena's beer tent. TImes will be posted after the cubes come out.
ALL are welcome!!!

I've been posting for almost five years, and I've only met a handful of the other T-heads. But that's my own fault; I haven't taken advantage of many of the opportunities. (I plan to do better this year.) So don't let that stop you; share your love of the Fest and New Orleans with the rest of us. We all have that in common.

I'm the worst for not making meetups but try to make at least one a weekend. I, like grisgris, look for those on the edge of the crowd of ths at the meetup. those who are likely new to the group. Like IBJ says, ALL are welcome.
