I'd read about alot of problems people were having with getting posters they'd ordered from art 4 now...any updates or comments on this?

It was way late when I got mine, but they arrived. Really didn't matter since they are still unfaramed & in the tube. ;)

I think I won the lottery for latest poster received last year, but it did arrive, safely and in one piece. I would order mine in advance again -- I want to buy one but don't want to drag it all over the place or on the plane home.

Hey, I am a senior. 100 posts, finally! Where's my pension cheque? My discount at the drugstore? Is there a senior discount on tickets to Fest?
Sigh.

as an option, you can mail them from the Fest at the mail station, which is next to the pond by the Gentilly Entrance.

I pre-order mine from Art4Now every year. Although it takes a while to get it, I've never had a problem.

I've ordered from them as well. I received my posters as they say " better late than never".

how long does it take to get the posters in the mail? months after the fest itself?
I definitely want to pre-order mine this year (Congo to be exact) as it was a pain to carry last time I was there and plus I heard the official jazz fest poster sold out in the first weekend last year. I'll be there second weekend this year so I don't want to get screwed

I live in Canada, and so mailing here can add a few days or a week or two to the process as the posters have to pass customs, so my experience would not be typical for the timelines involved when someone from the U.S. orders. I think I got mine in July last year, but I think last year was an atypical year as I've received them much earlier than that other years.

They were a little bit slower in coming last year, but that was understandable since they were short staffed after The Thing.
I've pre-ordered them every year for years, and always received the posters with no problem. Whether I get them 6-8 weeks after the fest, or a little later, it's still the easiest way to be sure you get a poster.

I have had some issues with art4now in the past regarding them not filling my orders. The major problem that they have is the fact that the customer does not get an order number when the online order is placed. For the amount of money that they process every year ($1M+) you would think they would get a good website that is user friendly and allows people to check the status of their order. This surely would eliminate all of the calls they get from confused consumers.
Any news on the 2007 poster? I hope it's a good one.

I ordered and had mailed to Canada one year as well, and with the cost of shipping and the duty, agent fees etc. and could have bought 2 posters at the Fest. Won't do that again. Besides, it wouldn't feel right to not have to drag that tube around the fairgrounds. It's like a 'right of passage' to me. LOL.

My experience with purchasing posters from Art4Now has been strictly by mail order, and every transaction has been great.

I bought on the grounds last year, mailed it from the Fest PO booth and it beat me home.

Was that a big process CBH? I'm wondering if it's an issue for Canadians? How far is the PO booth from Art4Now? My fear is that I'll intend to buy one at the grounds but then because of tiredness/hangover, say screw it and then they'll be sold out. Uggggh....decisions, decisions.....

I say order what you might want online. If you decide you don't want it, you can always sell it on ebay for what you paid for it.

Agree! I never did get my order filled for the Gatemouth Congo Square poster. After several phone calls over a year's time, I finally gave up.

It was very easy- poster booth between the ponds, post office on the Gentilly pond. Took maybe ten minutes to mail.

The main fest poster is a wonderful image of Jerry Lee Lewis by a beloved Louisiana artist (many of you see his work when you land at MSY--no, it isnt the dude with the wings). Original art and imagery, kinda trippy in an 80's sort of way, but not as..uh..derivative as the last few years artwork has been.

Oh my goodness!!! Yesterday, I saw the painting for the Congo Square Poster at a frame shop on the Westbank. It's true that the musician is Philip Frazier. It's beautiful and Very Colorful! The framer told me that the artist was local but wouldn't say who the artist was. I managed to get a peek of the signature at the bottom. The artist is T Osborne. I looked up T Osborne on the net but kept coming up w/ Ozzy! Let me know if you can find out who this guy is. I'm excited! I haven't seen "The Killer" yet but I'm sold on Phil!

If this is true, I am really excited because he is my new favorite artist. I actually just discovered his art a few weeks ago!

I wonder how there is already a copy of this poster in a gallery when the image hasn't even been revealed to the public yet. Maybe it's a draft from when the posters were printed. Hope to see it soon.

I was told of the poster artists weeks ago by someone who has seen them.;) I guess it is not as well guarded as you were led to think....

I love em both! Think we'll try to get Tuba Phil to sign Congo Square for the raffle :) Are the shirts and everything out yet? Curious about this year's print, last year's was awesome, my fave since the alligators!
