Ok, the first weekend is over, and now it's Monday. What a letdown, right?
Not right! It was a great day. Lemme tell you about it.
I began the day by sleeping in. Never underestimate the value of a good night's sleep, my friends.
Then I had lunch at the Palace Cafe with a friend (Judy/ATL) who was returning home (Bummer!). Great food - turtle soup, superb gumbo, oyster spinich salad. As we sat there, sipping our wine, and enjoying our food, LondonCalling joined us for a time, followed soon by Mr. LondonCalling. After they moved on to LMF, NYMAMA and her best buddy stopped by to chat.
Ok, lunch is over. Now it's off to Jenn's place for the ThreadHead Raffle. More great food, (e.g., crawfish bread, crawfish cheesecake, chicken, delicious sweets, more, more, more). Then, as a surprise (at least to me), a great performance by Paul Sanchez, just for us. He was powerful. His planned last song left so many of us in tears, that we had to insist on one more to lighten the mood. Paul provided.
While all this is going on, ThreadHead love is everywhere.
Then, the raffle, where I won some very nice stuff. More ThreadHead love.
Back to the Quarter and a bite to eat.
Off to The Kerry Irish Pub, for Kim Carson's great music, and partying with ten or twelve ThreadHeads.
Then I went back to the hotel, and ate a chocolate alligator.
Yep, sure was a wonderful Monday!
