Hi guys. I'm Tracey and it's my first time here. I don't know if this is the place for these specific posts but I was wondering who the poster artists are for this year. I read here that the posters are of the "The Killer" and Phil Frazier. When do they come out and can you order them online before the fair so you don't have to carry them? Also, since this is the first year that we're bringing our 4 yr old twins, I wondered if there is a line-up and schedule for the childrens tent.
Thanks.
Tracey

The talent will be announced this coming Thursday, including kid's tent artists, but the cubes (who is playing where won't be released till closer to the fest.).

The official poster (apparently it is Jerry Lee Lewis) & The Congo Square poster (Tuba Phil) will be available for order from www.art4now.com about a month before fest. They won't ship your poster till 4-6wks after fest, but if you don't want to carry it around all day, this is the way to go.

Hi Tracey. WElcome. Questions are welcome here. There's also another subforum called Everything you ever wanted to know about the jazzfest that you might want to check out. I think there was no kids tent last year, it being the year after the Thing. But before that, when the schedule aka the cubes came out a month or so before the fest, it had schedules for all eleven stages and the events in the Grandstand. A couple folks on here seem to know who the artists are for the posters but that hasn't been revealed to the masses.

Thanks for that info. I can't wait to see the posters! We've collected for the past four years (ok, I'm a newbie).

Also be aware that you can buy the posters at the fest and have it mailed home at the post office booth on the grounds. Works great and it'll be there waiting for you when you get home.

Hey there was a kids tents last year (http://www.nojazzfest.com/schedule/42906.html), I know because once again I missed the Basin Street Sheiks (http://www.basinstreetsheiks.com/Calendar.html)....one band me and Jazz Fest just can't seem to align right for. I think the kid's food booths, however, were missing. (Except for the pasta one)

Butterfly, if you go and get to see the Sheiks, please report back here.

Also, if you haven't yet, take a peek at some the homemade posters now showing on the "food fight" thread....This could be your only chance to vote for the Couchon de Lait Po Boy (http://www.nojazzfest.com/chat/showthread.php?t=622)(and other Jazz Fest Favorites)

Well Tracey, if you want to catch up on years past, search New Orleans Jazzfest (or some variant of that) on E-bay. Lots of old posters, some reasonably priced. Also, checkout nojazzfestart.com. These tend to be more recent, and more pricey, but if there's something you can't live without.....
