Hi fellow Jazz Festers! This has been such a difficult time for me! Yet I am DETERMINED to make it to Jazz Fest!! I have my air fare and most of my accomodations figured out. I have very little money to travel with but to hell with it!
I look forward to seeing you all there!! This is a bit nuts but I need this sooo much!
You all are such a wonderful bunch!

hey nikkibird...if u are in a jam about a place to stay..drop me a line..kremepuff718 dot yahoo
I've done Fest on $50 a day. Don't start drinking beer till 2PM, pick up your dinner as you're leaving(soft shell crab po-boy makes an excellent supper), and hang out on Frenchman or Oak and listen to the music from outside the clubs in the evenings. If you don't have Fest tickets, see if you can find one outside from somebody. That might be cheaper than the gate price.

You can take food into the fairgrounds. It can be cheaper than buying food inside, but you can get stuff inside the fest for fairly inexpensive. It is the drinks, beer, wine and soft drinks that can get expensive. You can take in a sealed bottle of water and fill it up at the water fountains during the day. No need to pay for water.

Nikki, after Fest, many of the locals who live right around the Fairgrounds sell beer from their front yards, for a buck a brew..... Its a neat way to get a cheap beer, help a local family out and meet some nice folks. I have met several great families this way, and always look forward to saying hi each year. Fest can be as expensive OR inexpensive as your imagination allows. I am sure that no matter what your budget is, you will have a wild and wonderful Jazzfest!!! Matthew
