Wake up with a migraine, go out in the hot sun and look for some with jumper cables so I can jump off my dead battery so I can drive to the nearest Walgreen's and buy some sunglasses to replace the ones I lost the night before so I can make it on time to volunteer at Ms. Lena's.
That was fun.

Oh yea. Also keep in mind I threw up earlier and didn't have a brush and hairspray to fix my hair, either. I had to do it at the Walgreen's. Getting to fest that day was a herculean effort. But guess what? Sweet Swag introduced me to Sparks that morning and I took that with some advil and I was in tip top shape in no time! That Sparks was some good stuff.

what is sparks?
It's an alcoholic energy drink/beer/malt liquor:
"Sparks is a caffeinated alcohol beverage, one of the first such beverages. Its active ingredients caffeine, taurine, and ginseng are common to energy drinks; however, its additional focus on alcohol is not. Its packaging states a 6% alcoholic content by volume. Its flavor is similar to standard energy drinks such as Red Bull, Monster Energy, and Rockstar, with a tart, sugary taste."
Methinks the caffeine and ginseng may have helped the migraine go away. And maybe a little hair of the dog factor? The carbonation was nice, too, for my upset tummy. It just helped. Plus, I got a nice buzz. :)

Leave the subdudes set on the Gentilly Stage to catch the end of Stevie Miller's set on the Acura Stage.
OK, that wasn't a bad thing. When we walked up Art Neville and a gang and a half of guests were sitting in on 'Fly Like an Eagle'. Frickin' awesome!
But, after Stevie's set ran way over (Quint called him back for like two encores after that), coming back to find the Gentilly Stage area empty. No one and nothing was left. My chairs, flag, hat, and all the other stuff was GONE.
I mean, all I found was my half eaten bag of peanuts. Or maybe they were someone else's....
Freaking out thinking I'd lost my cell phone, car keys, etc. AS WELL AS ALL THE FEST GEAR.
Yes, someone had either left with it all, or the cleaning crew was just a little too zealous.
We had to run around like crazy the next day trying to replace all the stuff I 'lost'... Sheesh. Not a good way to close out a great Fest day...
So remember people: Take care of yer stuff!
(Or, do like Swag, and travel light...:D)
P.S.: The next day the wife and I went by the Po-Po's trailer near the Medical Tent. I axed the lone lady cop if there was a lost and found; told her how my stuff 'disappeared'.
She said: "What color were your chairs?"
And after I said, "Blue..." but before I could even finish the sentence, she said: 'Nah. There ain't no blue chairs back there.'
Man, we just kept on walkin'...

2) Give beers away without getting a proper spanking in return. No more freebos.

Hey you are so right, but jus think of all the collecting i get to do!! teehee
I thought about you when i discovered this very cool hawk "hunting" in my neighbors really wildly overgrown yard. He's taken to the scrub jays who live in the underbrush. He is so cool, and he sits for long periods of time and i have a front row seat! Don't have any birding friends out here, so I thought of you to share...you know i'm a bird freak if i have a big black raven in flight tattoed on my right shoulder...he's my totem!
Oops i forgot to say he's a sharp shinned hawk, much like a coopers' hawk but more narrow, esp. his head. Oh please let me be a bird in my next life!

Sea creatures have always fascinated me. Sea horses- the male carries the eggs! The Giant Squid- so mysterious, we don't even have much understanding about their habits, inhabits the deep, dark ocean- what do they think about? :)
I really wish I could talk to an Orca or Dolphin.
But- I, too, have always desired the ability to fly like the birds. Riding and gliding on a thermal high above the Earth, circling and spiraling effortlessly for hours on end.
I used to swim laps in an outdoor pool in the summer. After a while, you get into a zone. All you see is the clear, blue water and the clear, blue sky. I always thought it was the closest I would get to feeling the sensation of flying as the Birds do.

Sea Otter for me.
Funny you should say that...my grandson is carrying around two velour washcloths, one purple, one blue....he says they are sea otters....??? He runs about flying them around as if they were swimming. I put a big knot at one end and said honey...look it's the sea otters' head....he gets a
distressed look...'NO KNOT on the sea otters'
I think it fits ya...playful..yeah?

We should be coming down your way this summer. Steve has alot of family in the North County. I'll keep you posted so we can meet for a Margie!!

Last year, shortly after arriving in NOLA, I was doing an attitude adjustment when someone banged on the door of my Condo. Open the door to find one of NOLA's finest standing there asking if I parked in the guest spot. After I said NO twice this cop continued to accuse me of parking in the guest spot. Then I recognized him as the Coastguard guy from last year that lived in the complex. He was now a cop and very impressed with himself. All the neighbors hated him. So what do I do??? I get roaring drunk the last night there and toilet paper his car. 4 rolls!! Even took pics. I'm staying there again this year so I will try to be a good boy.

What's funny is he called his cop buddies thinking someone was out to get him. 2 Patrol cars showed up, they got out of their cars and starting laughing. Since he was a rookie cop they figured he was getting razzed by other cops.

will try not to lose my voice after only one day
will not have 3 hurricanes at Pat O'Briens in one sitting/standing
Will not all of a sudden become "shy" and not introduce myself to Threadheads just because I lurk more than I post...
Will not eat fried jalapenos (that come with fried gator) topped with a generous amount of hot sauce in 85+ degree sun for breakfast (didn't react well - made for a "rough" afternoon...)
