Zydeco bands are traditionally fronted by an accordian player. The only Zydeco band fronted by a froittoir player is Rockin' Dopsie, Jr. & The Zydeco Twisters. The frontman for this band, Rockin' Dopsie, Jr., is named David Rubin.

Of course, the original Rockin' Dopsie's given name was Alton Rubin. Alton Rubin, Jr. (Tiger) plays the drums, though. The accordian player is named Anthony.

Stanley Dural plays accordian in a band he fronts called Buckwheat Zydeco. Sometimes he plays the B-3. People call him "Buck". His guitarist is called L'il Buck.

Ah ... what wuz we talkin' about? :D

I saw the name earlier!! It just brought back GREAT memories. Back in the late 70's when I was attending The University of Louisiana-Lafayette (it was The University of Southwesten Louisiana then) there was a bar in Lafayette, LA that would play the whole "Blow Your Face Out" live album on Friday nites. Lotsa cool stuff.

ZZ Top? I know, there's no one called Z.Z. in the band.

But I always found it humorous that the drummer, Frank Beard, was the only guy in the band who didn't have a beard down to his sternum! :)

You all are missing the question. The band is named after a member, but not the lead singer.
