A BAND of five middle-aged men was warming up for rehearsal in a cluttered one-room studio, bashing out an unadorned version of “Shake, Rattle and Roll.” Two men, both named Tom, stepped to the microphones to harmonize on the song’s chorus. The clean-shaven one, playing rhythm guitar, spends most of his days working as a music teacher in suburban Nashville. The bearded, bass-playing Tom is one of the biggest rock stars in the world, who has sold more than 50 million records, has been nominated for 18 Grammy Awards and was most recently seen headlining the halftime show at the Super Bowl.........

Have been listening to an old 70's boot and a show from the 14th, sounds like a great time. Will see Tom in Tampa.
I just saw them on Saturday in Santa Barbara & they rocked the hell out of the place.

The crowd was awesome too! On thier feet the entire time.
Tom's voice was so clear & sounded perfect...the band was SO good!. Overall, they seemed so happy to be playing together again. They were definitely having a lot of fun up there.
Here's what i remember from set list:
Shady Grove- opener
Orphan of the Storm
Lover of the Bayou
Crystal River ( the best of the night!)
Maria
June Apple
I don't Scare Easy
Queen of the Go-Go's?
Rainy Day Women- encore
Summertime Blues - encore
If they are coming to your area...GO SEE THEM! It was a fun show.

When were you at UF? Mudcrutch was before my time, but I can say that I saw the Radiators at Dub's once.

74 to 80 after mudcrutch-- Saw Dizzy, the Dead, Dylan, Police, Wendy O Williams, Ramones, Devo, Blondie, Eagles, Gato, Zappa and Jimmy Buffet about 16 times. I had a friend in SGP. I rarely had to pay.

Unless WOW played Gainesville more than once we were at the same show--I was right up front for the Plasmatics at the Halloween Ball. I was there '80-'83, then back for grad school '86-'89. I saw the Dead at the Florida Gym, Zappa, Elvis Costello, Stray Cats, and, um Charlie Daniels at the O'dome. But one of the best shows I remember was the Talking Heads, for free, around '80. Come to think of it, I was visiting friends in G'ville and saw Pat Benetar at the Gym in '79.
Biggest disappointments were (years after the fact) realizing I was in town and could have seen U2 and the Cramps (not the same night) at the Rathskellar. They say that there were about 40 people at the Rat for U2 for the first set, then word got around quick enough to fill the place up before the show ended.
I won the Halloween Ball costume contest in '86 and '88, finished second in '87 (which put me on stage during the break between Warren Zevon and X).
We've probably already had this conversation.
