Hey All,
We are driving to NOLA from Raleigh this year, arriving Saturday morning in time for the fest. Since we won't be checking into the hotel until after fest on Saturday, the car will be packed with all our stuff so I'd like to find a nice secure place to park near the fest. Ideally, I'd prefer to avoid the official fest parking lot as it seems like it would be a nightmare trying to get out of there at the end of the day. Any recommendations?

Nothing comes to mind, but just FYI, there is no Fest parking this year unless you have a Big Chief or Grand Marshall pass.
I'd suggest Cabrini HS, on Esplanade. If you may arrive late, they are selling pre-reserved spots this year for $35. I'm assuming they will sell first-come-first served at a lower rate, but I'm awaiting confirmation.
And John is correct, no on-site parking this year except for prepaid VIP and handicapped.

Another idea is dropping everyone but the driver off and parking at Marconi Meadows. You have to pay for a shuttle, but it's cheaper than most parking spaces. The place is patrolled by cops, and I've never known of anyone having anything stolen there. I guess a crook could drive in and try to steal stuff, but it would be a real pain in the *ss and they'd probably get caught.

I just got confirmation. Cabrini drive-up (non-reserved) parking will be $30 this year.
