I went to the first 3 or 4 ACL's, but skipped '06 and '07.

The lineup looks decent enough, but nothing really really excites me. I'll probably skip '08 too.

kk, are you doing Wakurus this year? Have you checked their lineup? We hope to do ACL or Voodoo. The problem with waiting on Voodoo lineup is that ACL should be sold out of 3 day passes by then. Will wait on Voodoo and hope for the best.

Especially weather-wise.

I'm told they always schedule it for a day when UT football has no game, or else a very minor one (like a road game vs Rice).

IMO, that made sense the first couple of years, before the fest was established. Now that it sells out annually, I think they can compete with a UT game, as long as it's a road game so they aren't battling full hotel rooms and downtown crowds. My choice would be TX-OU weekend - that game is in Dallas every year in October.

Funny you mention UT football games, that's the reason I usually stay away. I go to most of the Alabama games. August would be pretty hot though I guess.

No waka this year, Fred. I have to work until June 12. Juana and I will do two or three fests in Mississippi and then multiple trips to New Orleans. I'm thinking about Memorial day weekend in nola already! And of course I'll be there for satchmo. Juana goes to nola almost every weekend now that she has a place there.
