Ok kids, finally got everything sorted out and finalized for the 2 nights with Betty at Old Point:

core band for both nights:
The Lost Soul Queen herself, the truly divine
Ms. BETTY HARRIS - lead vocals
Marc Stone (that's me! kinda like Butters) - guitar/bandleader
Josh Paxton - Keys
Sam Price (leader of Latin band Otra) - bass
Larry Williams - drums
Jamelle Williams - trumpet
Marie and John Young (Betty's sister and bro-in-law) - background vocals

Friday horns:
Tom Fitzpatrick - tenor sax, Jimmy Carpenter - baritone sax
Saturday horns - Allen DeJean - tenor sax, Rick trolsen -trombone

Special guests - Fri. Theresa Andersson and Susan Cowsill
Sat. - Ernie Vincent (the ORIGINAL Dap King)

Doors @ 9:30, showtime 10pm, band on no later than 10:30. We will do about 20 minutes of warm-up and then bring on Betty, who will do a 75 minute set. Intermission followed by late set with the full band and special guests. Trolsen, Paxton and others from the band will do some features on the late sets. Guests will also make special appearances during Betty's set. Other guests/sit-ins very possible

tickets $20 at the door, but I highly recommend advance tix (which are cheaper and guarantee admission, last Betty show at Old Point sold out) - $16.50 per night or $27.50 for both nights. available at www.marcstonemusic.com

thanks to everyone for supporting these shows. It's an honor for us to have Betty come down and play our little neighborhood bar.

Marc, great lineup! Question: do you (or does the club) allow still cameras at the show?

I took lots of pics last year at the Campbell Brothers show. :)

big camera or little camera?

It was my little camera - the one I can carry in my little purse.

Hey Chris, snap away. Most people have always been respectful of the band and the audience when taking pics, not stepping on anyone's toes, blocking sightlines or interfering with anyone's enjoyment of the show. Saturn, I'd love to see your Campbell's pics.

Darn I'd love to see Jimmy Carpenter again. It's been so long. And he can without-a-doubt play that bari! Happy to hear he's still gigging around N'awlins.

We're Saturday too. Driving straight from Neutral Ground after Twangorama's set. Probably have room for a person or 3.

Thanks Jordan, but I'm catching the ferry with CJ. Might hit ya up for a ride back across da river though, if that's cool. I think I'm going to try to hit The New Mastersounds 2am show at the Blue Nile (maybe).

BTW, where ya staying this year?

Hey Marc, I heard you on WWOZ last night. This sounds like a great show. Do you know if the Old Point shows are 18 + over or do you have to be 21.
My daughter will be with us.
Keep plugging. This should be a sell out show.
