I am thinking of changing flight, but to return same day was way too much money. Instead, might stay over one more night, attend raffle on Monday. was wondering what was going on Monday evening...

Far too much to do on Monday. Not only Instruments-A-Comin and Piano Night, but lots of club shows and in-stores.

Rob Wagner Trio at d.b.a. at 8 PM followed by the New Orleans Klezmer All-Stars at 11 PM would be my lower-priced, non-stereotypical or cliched, creative, spirited, interactive dance-party choice for the evening.

Monday, being recoop day, we like to lie back, relax a bit, and spend the evening at the Columns just listening to David Doucet and Al Tharp playing some really great Cajun music... but no one else will like that or enjoy it, so don't go, it's not something you want to do.

I just decided to splurge and bought a VIP ticket. Problem is, that leaves me with two regular tickets. Don't ask. But, if anyone is looking for IAC tickets, I'd be glad to part with them for face value or best offer.

We went VIP also last year. A great experience, breaking bread with Fats D. before the show, sitting next to Marcia Ball while eating some Jacque-Imos fare (the groupie in me went nuts). We found that the upsairs, while it did get crowded at times, was always a great retreat, when needed, from the whirling dervishes on the dance floor. IAC a Highlight of last yrs trip.

Hey Frosty,
If Corona does not need the tickets let me know and I can take them off your hands.
I was thinking about going to Piano Night but after seeing both line ups I am leaning toward IAC. Especially since it seems so many Threadheads will be there.
I don't want to step on Corona's toes, so just let me know if she does not need them.

And yupperz on the chairs. Not a lot of places to sit up in the balcony, so bring your own if you're going VIP.

YYR - I was VIP last year too - we probably danced or ate next to each other at some point.
The upstairs gets crowded right around the balcony railing. But aside from that, there is usually room to dance.

I live on the NW side of Chicago. I see you are in the Northern burbs. I work during the day in Northfield.
Are you planning to go to the Derick Trucks/DDBB show next Sun at the Lincoln Park Zoo? I will be there as long as the weather is decent.

Not at Kraft. But I am close to you. I work about 2 blocks from the New Trier Campus at Happ and Winnetka. We can make arrangements to meet up some time this week. I am only at that location from 7am - 2 pm then I leave for another location. I travel towards you around 2 pm to hop on the Edens at Lake St. We could meet somewhere around there any day this week, except for Wed.

Hey Glinda,
I live around Belmont and Cumberland. I spent a lot of time in Edison Park at Emerald Island years ago. We still go to Don Jose's for mexican food. I have been wanting to try that BBQ place on NWHWY. Have you ever tried it?
I was planning on going to Piano night, but after seeing the IAC line up I decided to switch. Although Piano night line up is pretty good too.

this thread is jus' killin' me.... so,.. what isn't goin' on that night???......
very sadly gotta get "goin' on" a plane that night... its was either miss this always incredible monday night or miss an actual day of fest... had to make a choice,.. but regrettin' it already.... the far' betta' half has decided to take a pass on the fest for the 2nd year runnin',.. and seein' i'm there for both weekends thurs - mon,.. gotta fly home in between to make eight nights/ten days away seem like less i guess.....
boils down to givin' up this particular night for more "days" of fest... afta' many a year of enjoyin' what i feel is the best night of the whole fest gonna miss my 2nd in a row.....
iac would be the easy choice this year.... what a lineup......

Count me in at Instruments a Comin'!! There is just soooo much going on and I was pondering some other shows or just kind of going with the flow and not planning anything. But, I did go to IAC last year and it was awesome....and seeing how so many of you are going to be there....I just figured it was the best choice. Also, I didn't want to deal a possible sellout, and then regretting I didn't get a ticket. So, I am ready and rarin' to go....leaving on the 23rd:D
