I'm not sure I've noticed a 3* cust fave. If you post the dates you are finding it for, I can try to do a bit of extra research for you.

Sounds like the Residence Inn.Stayed there in 02 or 03, really enjoyed it:

A couple blocks further from the quarter I'd taxi back at night unless I was in a big group. Did the same search and got a 4 star French Quarter for 89, Fitness, Restaurrant,High speed, pool, business center, I'd take that.

When I search those dates, I see a 4* Downtown cust fave (very likely the Intercontinental, possibly the Sheraton) for $89.

If you'd rather pay $30/night extra for a 3*, I did find one post elsewhere that the Country Inn and Suites is a 3* cust fave. The trip-advisor rating (4.5) matches what Hotwire shows, and the amenities seem to fit. So that's my best guess, though no guarantee.

If you decide to go with either of these Hotwire deals, it's always appreciated if you use the links on my site to get to Hotwire. Thanks!

There's a 2.5 in the Garden District showing up on Hotwire for 4/30-5/5 for $155/night. Not sure which hotel it is, though.
