OK, trying to plan, when we all know it goes out the window the moment of... Having trouble weighing Henry Butler v. Ruthie Foster v. Geno Delafose (I'd throw DDBB in that mix, except that I've got tix for Preservation Hall 4/25). I don't know much about him, only that his version of Tipitina on last year's Jazz Fest Live was smokin'. Opinions??

Im going to Ruthie because Ive seen Henry numerous times already, and I think there is a good chance he'll be doing an instore at LMF that I hope to catch. Very tough decision. Also maybe can catch his set on a Jazzfest Live cd?

If you're not going to see him at one of the evening shows, I would definately go with Henry Butler.
But, that's the subtle art of Jazz Fest planning... try to resolve your Fest conflicts by seeing some of those artists at night!

YYR, John...that is how I sometimes avoid the FOMS or at least minimize it

I agree, I'm trying to cut Fest FOMS with night shows, but FOMS carry over into evening stuff.... aahhhggg!! Leaning towards Henry Butler at this point...

Ain't a bad choice on the list, though, is there Sharon? It's all good in the land of 'OZ

My vote would go to Geno. Although Henry is geat too, he will probably around town at night. Saw him last year at The Monteleone Hotel.

That's the problem Gumbo - no bad choices! Would make my life easier if so! But that's why we're all obsessed, yes????

Love Geno! That's what makes this so hard!! Only night show I can fnd for him is 4/24, and I really want to make it to Vaughn's to finally to see Kermit.

YYR...but I suppose it is better than the best of a bad lot. That is why I am moving there, cut out the middleman.

The problem with Henry Butler at night is that he's usually at Donna's, which, if you can even get in, is packed to the gills.
