Got this on Myspace:

Prepare yourself for this one - maybe with a Stoli martini or two.

Back in the days of the Soviet Union, the Soviet Red Army had an official choir composed of male soldiers and musicians. It still exists. The Red Army Choir performs throughout Russia to this day.

Now consider the Finnish rock band called The Leningrad Cowboys. A little while ago, they held a concert in Russia, in which - to the screaming applause of Russkie teen-agers - they got the Red Army Choir to join them on stage for a performance of "Sweet Home Alabama." In English. You couldn't make this up.

We're talking seriously off the wall here.
Better have that Stoli ready when you watch it:

Other songs by this collaboration:

They also do Delilah as might have been done by a Roman Legion (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NhIMEMDYxZE&feature=related)

Thank you!! That really made my morning. I think Ronnie Van Zant is smiling somewhere. And I can imagine Tom Jones in that hair!

They definitely beat ANY Karaoke version!!! :)

The wicked witch of the west called...she wants her shoes back. On a related note, good to see Kate from the B-52s is back in a band

Quite funny to find this Leningrad Cowboys clip in this board.

I saw this whole mélange/circus with red army choir “live” some fifteen years ago and wasn’t too impressed of the “music” or the “show”.

I mean, it’s a joke and you might laugh song or two, but after that it was kind of boring and as a Finn I have always been slightly embarrassed that they kept recycling that same joke for more than ten years.

Contrast between soviet army uniforms and sweet home Alabama is quite amusing though.

Myrna, he might be your long lost cousin!

Mikkopk...Myrna Minkoff is a character from "A Confederacy of Dunces" and apparently she likes you.

Mich....that is hilarious....esp your "couldn't make this up" comment.
