for those of us from the north, we have to find our summer clothes, then determine which ones shrunk while in storage and must be replaced with larger models.
some folks make lagnaippes.
some folks add to their shoe addictions.
some folks post excessively.
some of us are guilty of all of the above.
some folks increase physical activity to get in better shape for fest.

Seems like all I'm doing is SHOPPING!
Three rounds at the raffle so far.
Multiple tshirts from Threadheads, Fest4Kids, Patry, PDKK.
Went to REI yesterday to look at a new, smaller pack and wound up buying all sorts of other cool stuff for fest that I really did NOT need, but couldn't help myself.
* They have these carabiner clip things attached to a black rubber loop that goes around a water bottle, so you can clip your water outside your pack.
* Picked up a few more of those neat bandanas with the crystals in them that cool and expand. They save my life at fest. And they had so many new pretty colors this year.
* Picked up a really small, really slim wallet that will fit in my pocket comfortably.
* Got a little watch thing that clips outside the pack, so I don't have to wear a sweaty watch on my wrist.
* Some really good socks
That store is gadget heaven for festivalists!!

I just picked up 100 Tapazole for my cat. $38something. The vet was charging me 65 cents a pill (cash only) for 5mg. so I asked my Endrocrinologist to write it for me. Told them 3 times not to run it through my insurance and they did anyway. (sigh) Was gonna cost $8 before I insisted they take it off. Tapazole, the drug I wish I had known about before I let them kill my thyroid. Gained a pound a day and half my hair fell out & has never grown back because the doc that did it didn't put me on synthroid. It was very ugly, the shape I was in. Took two years to get back to being human but I still have Graves and the eyes to go with it. Hope the meds did the trick for you and you don't have Hasimoto's. Thyroid disorders ain't no fun. But can you imagine what the insurance police are gonna think when they see the Synthroid AND the Tapazole? :)

that is sooooo funny (the tapazole and insurance part). I too have a kitty on 5mg of tapazole and just received it in the mail today - it was from entirely pets and only cost 29.95...mail order - got it in two days (6.95 s&h). I recommend them. My cat is 17 and just started taking it about 3 months ago. let's just say it isn't a fun adventure to get her to take the pill - no matter what we try........but she's better with it - so i endure the growling, hissing and scratching, biting and whatever else she comes up with !! My guy's a real lover and he knows the pills make him feel better so not too much of a problem there. Somebody told me to try pill pockets - a treat with a hole in the middle you put the pill into. He wouldn't touch them with a stick. Think it was the liver flavor. Works for my friend though. I got them off of Amazon dot com. Thanks for the tip on the mail order meds. Looks like we're coming out about even price-wise after shipping but did you need a script to get them? I did some internet research and couldn't find one that didn't require a script. He only wrote 3 refills after the 1st hundred. By the way, it helps after you poke the pill in their mouth to blow on their nose - it makes them swallow. Didn't know if you knew that or not.

Say I just looked at the receipt and even though Target Pharmacy quoted me 38$ on the phone, they only charged me $32 for generic. Not too bad a deal since Walgreens wanted $45. Had to put up with a lot of stupidity to save that $13 though. Gave'm a script for Tramadol just for a price-check since I didn't think it would fly with the insurance along with the 100 Motrin 800's I was also getting filled and they "lost" that inside of 10 minutes. Think maybe they're sampling too much product up in dere.
Nevertheless, the 100 fake Motrin only cost me $1.65 and I'm not hurting quite as much now as I had been all day. Trouble is, they're in a bottle about the size of a half-pint and I have to fly with it because of TSA. Okay, maybe not a half-pint but it's a big bottle...and too thick to be a decent flask. :)

i had a script my insurance wouldnt cover (experimental), i had read that walmart pharmacy gave a AAA discount. i tried it and save about 25%.

25% is a significant savings but IMO you earn it there. Standing in line forever with a bunch of sick people, then filling out their "Profile" and who knows what else. I have to get just a little poorer (and I'm sure I will) before I'll go through all that. Plus I'm not AAA either but I do qualify for AARP although I'm not currently a dues-paying member. Nevertheless, the over-55 discount helps some with hotel rooms. But Walmart's drugs must be pretty fresh cause they seem to have a hell of a turnover on'm.
The Target pharmacy I frequent used to be in the Biggs Supermarket (out of Cincinnati) until it closed just as the Target store was opening. They moved everything there. Used to be an excellent place to get diabetic supplies for the brother of my thyroid cat but inflation has caught up with that, unfortunately. I used to think I needed to marry a plumber. Now I think it's an Endrocrinologist. Okay, okay, it really, really IS a plumber.

Man, i'm so sorry this condition has screwed up your body so bad. i've stuck through with my thoughts on killing my thyroid...i just refuse to do it, and luckily i have a very holistic doctor that agrees that we have to fix the whole body and not just one piece. i think i'm going to be ok, and i feel very lucky. i had graves really badly too (during satchmofest...couldn't figure out what was wrong). that is hilarious about the synthroid and tapazole.!

Yeh U Rite! Right now my cube sheets are pretty neat and easy. Only a couple of sprints so far on Friday and Saturday. Count Basin has a way of putting an end to all that.
Neen: I like you avatar as well. I won't let K go to REI. It's worse than fuckin' Home Depot.
And a LOT more expensive!
Hey steve - you and K should come on out to Maddy's tomorrow night. It's not far from you (Scott at N. Decatur). Joe's blues band is there from 8-10pm and the BBQ! is fantastic (fomer cook from Fat Matt's). I really think you'll love this band - killer horn section. Gary (boneman) is planning to sit in too.
Hey stynger - you and Lady Leo too!

I'll be doing the same thing a lot of you are doing but focusing mainly on something Corona said. I'll be working every night and weekend shift that becomes available in order to amass the small fortune I know I'm going to need.
Also as i mentioned in the S,D,R&R thread, experimenting with various baked goods. Whoo Hoo.
You could bring some sample of that tomorrow night too!

that is sooooo funny (the tapazole and insurance part). LOL
Have you tried covering it with cream cheese? That was the only thing that worked for my cat.

Thanks but I think I'm doing okay now in that dept as I also have found a good doc although your's sounds like someone I wish I were close to. The problem was I let the ENT guy that found it treat the problem instead of seeing an endrocrinologist in the first place because a timely appt was impossible to get.The ENT guy didn't know or care what he was doing and I was fighting it hard too but they convinced me I was gonna have a heart attack & die if I didn't let them do it right away. Felt like I was backed up against a wall, so-to-speak. Ahhhhh hindsight.
Graves is actually a separate auto-immune system disease and the overactive thyroid is just one symptom. Another thing it does is cause the muscles behind your eyes to enlarge which can affect your vision. I really hope that you don't have it but I'm glad you found a good doc. Just make sure you keep those lab appts and you should be okay.

And the dimension limit. Bought a case at a flea market in FL that was one inch beyond the limitations. Just couldn't take a chance on having to pay extra for it so I left it at the hotel.

Really? Ken's already shaking his head saying I'll be over the 30kg (around 70lb) limit that we have here. He packs really light so already figure shoes will go in his case.

Two weeks in tax season so my straggler friends are making me crazy - and helping me with beer money!

Alas, samples all gone. I had a great weekend though. I was amazed at how little the brownies spiked my blood test. I figured between the flour, chocolate, and sugar they'd be off the chart. look for me to be a blithering idiot all day at JF.
