I caught a great show last night - on VH1 Classic. The series was called "BBC Jewels" and it was a mid-70's show called "Old Gray Whistle Test".
It was Bonnie Raitt - boy did she look like a baby. And gotta love that Frank Zappa-like italian white boy 'fro on Freebo, her bassist.
They were getting ready to show another episode from 1975 with Skynard, but I didn't get to catch it.
Just wanted to give ya'll a heads up in case it comes on again. It was a great concert.

Hey Neen!
Interestingly, about 5 minutes earlier I got a message from the Southern Culture on the Skids email list with a link to a YouTube of some band I never heard of on some show I've never heard of--Old Grey Whistle Test! So I searched YouTube for 'whistle test' and got 200 results. No Bonnie Raitt, but some Skynyrd. Lots of old punk bands--Ramones, Iggy, etc. And here's a nice Little Feat clip from 1975:

My all time favorite Little Feat song! Thanks.
My favorite part of these is how funny the clothes look. (Or how cool they can look too.)
God bless the 70's!

Good question. You used to be able to search the back-cubes to find out who played when on this site, but I can no longer find the link.
Swag/Anybody - do you still have the link?

Of course, Swag has the past schedules on his site.

The problem would be that Bonnie was a guest of Allen's, so it would be hard to determine the performance year from the cubes.
While on the subject, here's a couple of shots of Bonnie I took at the '85 fest:

'70s clothes may rock, but I'm not to sure about '80s hair!

For Little Feat fans and drum nerds, it doesn't get much better than Richie Hayward's "Fat Man" solos!

Notwithstanding the crappy audio, I definitely would have liked to have seen this performance of Sonny Landreth playing Spanish Moon with the Feat too...

God I love Little Feat! Memories, memories! I had pals that used to skydive way back in the day and "Oh Atlanta" was their theme song as there was a giant gathering of skydivers from all over North America in Atlanta each year. When I used to tag along on jump trips in Canada, you could hear them all singing Oh Atlanta when they broke formations to open their chutes. That was a time for sure.
I will listen to these tomorrow night when I'm home. Thanks for sending along the links everyone!

That's the link I was thinking of - the one on the official site here. We'll have to get Festy Dave to add the link back, I guess. Although I tried it and the search doesn't seem to work.
Re: Bonnie - you could search for a year where both Bonnie and Allen played, and that would probably be a likely candidate, I guess. Using Swag's search, it looks like Bonnie appeared in '98, '02 and '04. Although I guess it is possible she was a guess of Allen's without also being a performer herself.

The link to the History page works but there is no database behind it. On the old bored it only went though 2003.
1st time LF played at JF was '88 (I think), easily the coldest day ever for the Fest.
