Oh my Gawd, as they say. What an incredible experience! (Oh yeah, that Troy guy was there too).

Jane and I just got back from Bondville, Vt, staying at a little inn called the Red Fox Inn. We've had some amazing musical experiences over the past two years, but these two days blow everything else away.

They played in the tavern at the inn; a little place where you're dancing just feet from them. They had arrived on Thursday, as we did, driving up from NY. They started the show at 10:00 and went to about 11:45. They played straight through since they were operating on only about an hour of sleep. What was also a blast was that it was incredibly windy that night and the lights kept going on and off. But the true professionals they are, even when the power would go off during one of Pete's solos, BAM! Shorty and James would immediately pick up where Pete had to leave off. After the show, Dwayne's taking equipment out to the car in a t-shirt. We're talking single digit wind chills now. He said he liked the cold. That was until he found out the van was locked!

On Friday, we had a good chance to chat with the guys in the parlor at the inn. Jane and Pete got to swap Jersey stories. He actually brought a cooler with him so he could stock up on some Jesrsey pizza before he headed home. It was also another tough day for Dwayne. They went outside to take pictures and he wiped out on he ice. We also filled them in on what the Threadheads do, and they were VERY impressed. You could tell they appreciated the efforts. They hadn't brought any "real" jackets so the staff had to round some up so they could head over to Stratton Mt to check out the US Open Snowboard competition that was going on.

Friday night's show was to die for. We saw them at Fest and IAC last year, but of course they're doing limited sets. They started "warming up" at 10:00 and finished at about 1:45 with just a short break. They finished up with that great rendition of St. James and then When The Saint's complete with a second line through the tavern. Uneffing believable! Our hips are still dipping. If this is any indication, we WILL NOT be able to survive two weeks of JF and the night shows. I'm only now starting to come back to life today.

One last note. Being selfish, ;) we gave them information on other venues in our area. We also pushed Crawfishfest (hear that Michael?). Maybe you'll get a call for next year.

And if you're reading this CARONA, Jane added a shout out for you to Troy at the bottom of the note.

Saw Shorty and the boys in NYC this past Saturday. What a great show!!!
They played Sullivan Hall. Fantastic energy which got me itching for the Fest. A nice warmup when they did Saints Go Marchin!
