LOL! that's where I usually am...we're in G2 this time because we're taking our 8-year old son for his 1st concert. Hopefully, it's not too crazy! lol
I used to be a restaurant manager there, so I think we'll be ok. But you gotta love the Bowl...how many places can you still bring in your own food & drink.

Robert Plant & Alison Krauss are playing the same night at the Santa Barbara Bowl, which is where we live, so THAT sorta bites.

I even joined TP's fan club so I could get advanced tix through the pre-sale, but I blew it by being to picky & it was sold out within minutes.

I hate paying to join fan clubs, but it has paid off nicely. Through Clapton's fan club I got good seats to Crossroads in Chicago last summer and then again for the Clapton/Winwood show at MSG last month. Through Petty's club, I got pit seats for the show here this summer (with Winwood oddly enough)!

Whoa~ he's following you ;)
Yeah, I would definitely join another again for the pre-sale advantage, but I know now not to be so picky & take the first option, because there's only limited tix released. Can't wait!

Of course, this is a show you cannot bring your own adult beverages. We have our ways! ;) Which restaurant did you manage?

I sign up on all the promoter's web sites - Live Nation, AEG, etc. They tend to offer pre-sales for no charge. VISA & AMEX are also good no charge pre-sale options.

I worked for Patina Groupand managed the Marketplace & Staccatto. They used to let you bring in bevs during leased shows, as long as it was in plastic. No Glass. Either way..not hard to sneak in. ; 0

Me too usually. Depends on the artist, but sometimes the fan clubs get the better seating (after the scalpers, that is...)

Yep. I've read that often on the fan club boards- folks don't take the first option & then get shut out entirely. The Crossroads presale lasted 8 minutes.

DEBUT ALBUM FROM MUDCRUTCH AVAILABLE APRIL 29

CALIFORNIA TOUR DATES START APRIL 12

HIGHWAY COMPANION CLUB PRESALES BEGIN FRIDAY MARCH 21

The long awaited debut album from Mudcrutch, recorded in just two weeks last
August, will be released on Reprise Records on April 29. Mudcrutch features
Tom Petty, Mike Campbell, Benmont Tench, Tom Leadon, and Randall Marsh.

In the early 70's, they were heroes in their hometown of Gainesville,
Florida. Mudcrutch seemed poised for more. But the band never cracked the
national music scene or made a full album. Now, more than 30 years later and
quite unexpectedly, the Mudcrutch story continues.

In addition to the release of the album on April 29, the band will undertake
a short tour of intimate California venues starting on April 12 in Malibu and ending with a four-night run at the 500 capacity Troubadour in Los
Angeles.
