since it doesnt conflict with Ingrid's party this year - YES.
i would venture to guess that 90% of the TH's in town that evening will make it by the square.

Is this that free show that's in the square? I remember the following from last year:
Marcia Ball played it
Buying drink and food tickets and then enjoying the show
& that it was in "the square" on Wednesday on the daze between.
Is this the same one?

Perhaps we could arrange a TH meet-up with a pre determined place in the square where we could all enjoy the evening.
Are there any cool eating places nearby or is it better to head back to the quarter after the show?

I'm kind of hovering around some of these get together discussions as I don't know my friends' plans or even which friends I'll be with on those in between days, but if I'm free, this show is a must. I'll likely be checking the board during the day those days to see what is going on and who is doing what.

Yep, Pine Leaf Boys to open.
Maybe not opening.
Sometimes, Marcia plays 5-6 and then 6:30-7:30, with the down-bill band playing during the break 6-6:30.

I have found the shows that occur the Weds. pre-JF are usually very good. My little ritual has been to leave on Tuesday just to get down for these shows. I wont make Marcia due to a very special commitment, but her shows have been a lot of fun. My friends from San Diego got engaged at her Weds. show in 2002. She even did "Power of Love" for them.

its interesting to blend the 'just getting to town' crowd with the 'i have so few brain cells left & my body aches all over' crowd. i'll be in the latter.
we can use the new perky peeps to run get dinks.

I just found out my airline, airtran, switched my fight times on thursday the 24th and its to a later time than original. They said I can now change to any fight within 24 hours of my original time. So I may come in on Wed just to catch Big Sam and DDBB in the square. I love those shows in the square what a great way to start off fest. I just need to book a hotel room and that should be no problem for a wed. This will give the wife and I a day alone before our kids arrive.

Last year was the first time I missed Marcia because I was at Ingrid's party (good time was had by all) but since they don't conflict this year, I will be dancing to Marcia in the park.

YAY John for the mailman bar :D Had a really grand time there with ya last year and I believe it is my turn to buy!!
O I will be in for Big Sam too if my flights are on time !
I've seen Marcia Ball in many different venues since the late 80's.... I really enjoyed her at the Park last year on Wednesday night. I do believe it was my favorite. The weather was fantastic and the beverages were right on!!! What a super way to begin Jazz fest, you know. I can't get down there until Thursday night so I'll have to pay close to 30 to see her at HOB... I just bought my tickets and the extras...made it $30.00 a ticket and we bought 3. That was 30.00 in extras for our group of three. (that 10 could be used for 1.5 brews there.....ha). Don't we all wish Ticket Master had some competition? Enjoy the show at the park!!!!!
