View Full Version : Cool local t-shirts?

Folks, I'm trying to find out where I can get some cool NOLA t-shirts. I'm talking about shirts produced by various New Orleans restaurants, businesses, bars, etc....NOT the crap you buy on Decatur. Places like Fiorella's, Mothers...anything like that. It could be a local garage, a cleaning company - you get the picture!
I like logos that are clean and simple - not a bazillion colours and not something off Cafepress.
Any ideas?

Actually Ross, I have my son working on a new T-shirt design even as we speak (type)! Gotta keep the young artist busy and on task....
I hope to have them ready for the Fest! :D

You're looking to them online? Or when you're here for Fest? Vaughan's has a good shirt, Funky Monkey on Magazine has shirts with many local NOLA logos (K&B, Hubig's, etc.), Clover Grill has some fun shirts . . .
I'd be happy to scout some out for you, if you like! :)
This place has some very unique and interesting New Orleans tees:

Some simple yet very clever designs. I particularly like "Ruffins for Mayor." Both the shirt, and the idea generally...

That's awesome, guys! That's exactly what I'm looking for!
A couple of years ago, I spotted a guy on the streets here in Toronto with a Lion's Den shirt , and you just knew that he "got it". I see a lot of Rock N'Bowl shirts (not crazy about them) and I have my own little collection of Tips shirts, but my Funky Butt shirt tends to attract the most attention from those "in the know", if you get my drift.
Keep those suggestions coming! (and if they are available online, even better!)

That George Matters shirt is Always a good one. I like my Snake & Jakes xmas club shirt & my Le Bon Temps Roule fest shirt. But My all time favorite is my "Fresh Jumbo Peanuts 2005" shirt from the peanut man at the Fest.
http://www.porterbatistestoltz.com/store/images/gpj_tee_sm.jpg
I love George, but the Air Porter image kind of bugs me because it is so clearly a rip off of the Air Garcia logo (which was obviously derivative of Air Jordan, but at least original in its concept). Still a cool shirt; just my .02.

Hey Now--- I am pretty sure George could outleap Jerry, especially these days, but I wonder back when Jerry was still with us? I imagine if Garcia was leaping for something he was motivated enough for (fill in your own blank) he could get a little height.......

How about a photo of Baba with the caption: "My grandson, the genius."?
Funny story: Several years ago, I managed to wrangle my own late, great Baba into recording a few phrases into my Mac Powerbook. I set the phrases to become various alerts, and every time I would make a mistake the machine would say "Nu? What's coming off here?" Every time I saved a file, it would say "Oy Ross....you're such a genius!" Unfortunately, I lost the laptop, but people used to crack up every time the thing would speak during a meeting... :>)

Great design. Sounds like a great shirt. Unfortunately I leave on Weds. and can't make RosetreeFest II, but I plan to stop by and see you at Fest (and likely buy something for my wife who is great enough to let me go to Fest this year while she stays at home with the kids). Will you have them for sale there? Otherwise, I would hope to see you at the Patry, and I believe we're both dining at Cochon on Monday 'tween, so I would hope to be able to pick one up (XL) somewhere when our paths cross.
