Can anyone give a some suggestions on a bar/restaurant that has a happy hour? I've got some people coming down and we are trying to coordinate a meetup on the 24th.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated!!!!

I never really think of New Orleans as a "happy hour" place; it is pretty much happy hour 24/7. But if I recall correctly, the Columns Hotel has a pretty good one and is a nice, very "grand old New Orleans" kind of place to take in the scene.

Lots of people love the Chart Room on Chartres and Bienville. 300 Chartres...
After I get my arse out of Ol'Toones I generally find that Chart is fun as well.
I seem to always meet some characters in there. No food but worth a stop!

For what it is worth, Citysearch list the Columns as the best happy hour in NOLA for 2007, then again they listed the Cat's Meow and Razzoo on Bourbon as numbers 2 and 3.

Le Bon Temps has free oysters at happy hour... a happy local bar uptown... *(not sure if the oyster thing is happening during Fest).

In the quarter...or bordering. Most people are first timers (hell, this is only my 2nd fest)..walking is much better..well, walking at first, then stum-bumbling!!

The free ersters are only on Friday night. And last time I was there, somebody messed up the order so they had wings instead.
Balcony Bar and Cafe on Magazine has daily happy hour specials....$1.50 Red Stripe on Monday, $1.50 Newcastle on Tuesday, $1.25 Rolling Rock on Wednesday and $1 High Life on Thursday. Plus they have some bar food as well. But it is not near the Quarter...

dry dock cafe in algiers. take the free ferry across the mighty mudsissipi, walk a half block and your there. i don't know if they have specials but the food is good and they make a good bloody caesar. also you can walk 2 blocks around the corner and hit the old point bar. just another place in nawlins a lot of people don't go see.

Thanks. I wish google let people do an alpha or geo sort, would make the map mo'better. Yup ya asked me 'bout fest :confused: I think I said it's too soon.
